| Guangzhou is a famous cultural city with a long history. Many historic buildings not only represent the development history of Guangzhou and the living conditions and aesthetic habits of the citizens, but also are the material carriers of the history and culture of Guangzhou.Due to the limitations of historic buildings themselves,it is difficult to meet the various needs of the contemporary era. Therefore, the renovation of historic buildings is particularly important for inheriting their architectural values and realizing the development in the contemporary era.Under the influence of industry competition and its own development needs, historical buildings of hotel are updated and transformed more frequently than general public historic buildings. The public area of the hotel,as the main space for external services, not only serves the guests, but also provides catering, conference and banquet services to the citizens.Timely and effective renovation plays a vital role in maintaining the quality of the hotel and promoting the development of the hotel. On the other hand, the public area concentrates on the historical, cultural, artistic, scientific and other values of the historic buildings of hotel, and its renovation should be based on the evaluation and protection of the architectural value of the public area. However,in practice, many public areas of historic buildings of hotel in Guangzhou blindly pursue the immediate interests and fail to effectively protect the core values of hotels, causing great damage. In view of the above background, this paper takes historic buildings of hotel in Guangzhou as the research object to discuss the evolution and renovation of their public areas. The research is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction.Through sorting out the research background, significance and research status, the research object and research focus are defined, and the relevant research methods and research framework are determined. The second chapter is related basic research, including the development history of hotel buildings in Guangzhou, the development history of historic buildings of hotel in Guangzhou, the development history of public areas,so as to establish a foundation for the following research on the theory and strategy of renovation of public areas of hotel historic buildings in Guangzhou. The third chapter is the theoretical research.By sorting out and studying the renovation theories related to historical buildings and hotel public areas, the paper summarizes their relevance and differences. On this theoretical basis,it summarizes the value and protection points of public areas of hotel historic buildings of in Guangzhou. At the same time, the paper summarizes the feasibility of the renovation of the public areas of historic hotel buildings in Guangzhou from three aspects, including laws and regulations, construction status and technical specifications. The fourth chapter is the case study.By summarizing the original design problems of public areas of hotel historic buildings in Guangzhou and the renovation types of architectural space and forms, this paper summarizes the technical route of renovation of public areas, and analyzes whether the existing renovation types can realize the protection of the value of public areas. On the basis of the two studies, the paper summarizes the core contradictions of the renovation of public areas of hotel historic buildings in Guangzhou. The fifth chapter is the discussion and practice of the strategy.Based on the theoretical research of the third chapter and the case study of the fourth chapter, the principles of the reconstruction of the public area of the historic buildings of hotel in Guangzhou are proposed, and the renovation strategies are proposed from the four aspects, including the preliminary planning, the protection of the building value, the building space and the building form. Finally, citing the renovation project of Aiqun Hotel, which I participated in during my master’s degree,I further elaborated the application of the strategy mentioned above in the actual project. |
