Study On Protection And Revitalization Of Historic Conservation Area In Guangzhou

In 2017,China's ancient city conservation system ushers in its 35 th anniversary.Cultural heritage protection increasingly receives attention from all aspects,gradually becoming the “theme” of urban culture development in China.Guangzhou,as one of the first historic and cultural cities as well as the forward position of reform and opening up,is confronted with the value conflicts between globalization tide and local regional culture.Historic conservation areas also face double pressures from conservation and development.Historic conservation area in Guangzhou refers to the historic conservation area approved by Guangzhou Municipal Government,Guangdong Province.It specifically indicates 26 historic conservation areas in the compiled,approved,published and implemented Guangzhou Historical and Cultural Well-known City Planning through legal procedures.This paper starts from conservation value orientation,taking 26 historic conservation areas as a holistic protection object for research.Taking the authenticity and integrity of historic conservation areas as the principle,it advocates conservation and excitation together,giving considerations to applicability,conservation,inheritance as well as creation of beautiful and user-friendly in the excitation process.It discusses the following four parts on the basis of international cultural heritage theory,domestic historical and cultural conservation theories and local correlational researches in Guangzhou.Firstly,it reviews the development history in historic conservation area in Guangzhou;starting from the clues of conservation idea and excitation practice,it teases the protection and excitation paths of historic conservation area in Guangzhou since the 35 th anniversary of ancient cities for phase division and characteristic summary.Secondly,it investigates the value type of historic conservation area in Guangzhou,analyzing the value type of 26 historic conservation areas through qualitative and quantitative methods.Example discussions are proposed in view of conservation and excitation strategies of various types.Thirdly,it presents the excitation practice paradigms of “block cluster——block unit——neighborly” space scale.The scale of “block cluster” is the culture creation of “integrality” and “systematicness”.The scale of “block unit” means the organic collage of “authenticity” and “completeness”.The scale of “neighborly relations” indicates the community building of “applicability” and “characteristic”.The last part is about the extended thoughts.It proposes suggestions for the policy guarantee of historic conservation area conservation and excitation.
