A Research On The Renovation Design Of Traditional Style Buildings In Historic Conservation Area

Traditional style buildings, as a kind of lower-grade protected architecture, are usually be neglected in the protection and renewal of historic conservation area. However, they are a kind of reflection of unique history and folk custom in this area, and representing the distinctive characteristics of this era and this region. In most cases, there are numerous traditional style buildings existing in historic conservation area. Whether successful or not, renovating this kind of buildings is a key to the renovation of the whole historic conservation area.Firstly, the paper made a preliminary research on the basic features and treatments of traditional style builings. Then the paper summerized their technical methods through the comparative analysis in actual cases around the country. After that, with the intensive investigation and measurement results of Jinxiancang Historic Conservation Area, and summarizing the features in traditional style buildings, the paper try to extract a suitable technical method, and applied to the renovation design of certain traditional style buildings in Jinxiancang Historic Conservation Area.This study provides a practical technical method for the renovation design of traditional style buildings in historic conservation area, fills the blank of the research about this kind of architecture, and can be used as a reference in related renovation and utilization works in traditional architecture.
