Research On Spatial Distribution Of Foreign Population And Environmental Characteristics Of Agglomeration In Shenzhen

In 2014,Shenzhen began to plan to promote the construction of international community and it is closely related to the distribution of foreign population.Meanwhile,Shenzhen serves as a window for reform and opening up,and faces with great opportunities for the construction of“21^st Century Maritime Silk Road”,“Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”and“Pilot demonstration area”,international exchanges and cooperation would be continued to deepen.Internationalization plays a very important role in the urban construction of Shenzhen,and it is necessary to explore the spatial distribution characteristics of foreign population in the construction of international cities and communities.However,most of the existing studies on foreign population focus on Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou and other cities,while few studies focus on Shenzhen which is a typical migrant city.Therefore,in view of the needs of Shenzhen’s construction of an international city and community,the distribution characteristics of foreign population in Shenzhen are more worthy of our attention and research.This study takes Shenzhen as an example and based on the foreign population data in the sample management data of Shenzhen in 2015 under such backgrounds,this thesis analyzes and discusses the spatial distribution and living environment characteristics of the foreign population from the perspectives of the origin of foreign population and its distribution in Shenzhen.In the study,from the perspective of origin,this thesis analyzes the characteristics of foreign population in Shenzhen,such as the composition of nationality,the ratio of male to female,and the time of coming to Shenzhen.Meanwhile,spatial autocorrelation and other methods were used to analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of foreign population in Shenzhen.This thesis combines with the surrounding environment and historical development process of the foreign population gathering community,comprehensively analyzes the characteristics and reasons of foreign population agglomeration.This thesis focuses on discussing the spatial distribution characteristics of the foreign population in Shenzhen and the influence of the historical development of the agglomeration area on the settlement since the reform and opening-up.Research indicates that the origin of foreign population in Shenzhen is very extensive,mainly from several developed countries in Asia,Europe and North America;there are obvious clustering characteristics in Nanshan district,Futian district and Baoan district in space,forming 11 obvious settlement communities.Through the analysis of the development history of the settlement community area and the surrounding built environment,it can be found that some foreigners had come to work in China for foreign companies at the time of reform and opening-up.With the continuous development of Shenzhen’s economy,it attracts more and more foreigners to live,work and study in Shenzhen,and gradually forms several settlements with distinct characteristics.The developing of compact community is inseparable from the change of the surrounding built environment,which usually develops in step with community construction,during the process of community formation,Shenzhen gradually has formed supporting facilities to meet the living needs of foreign population and residents,such as schools,shopping malls,catering and so on and have become mature.Therefore,the employment environment influences the agglomeration of the foreign population and promotes the development of the community of built environment.The foreign population in Shenzhen is mainly guided by employment.After foreign enterprises set up factories and invested in Shenzhen,the foreigners need to settle down in Shenzhen for work and other reasons,which promoted the formation of the settlement area of foreign population in general.By analyzing the spatial agglomeration of foreign population in Shenzhen,this thesis combines the population distribution of migrant cities with urban planning disciplines to a certain extent,discusses the role of foreign population migration in promoting the development of multi-culture in Shenzhen,and provides some ideas for the construction of an international city and community in Shenzhen.
