N Company is the world’s leading supplier of communications equipment and network solutions,and its products and solutions have been used in more than 170 countries and regions around the world.In order to meet the needs of 5G era explosive growth,N company must constantly upgrade its products.As the key point of telecom operators’ equipment procurement,base stations occupy the commanding heights in N Company’s strategic planning.However,in the process of product iterative innovation,N Company is faced with the challenges of diversified customer needs,high software scale and complexity,and slow software defect repair progress.It needs to use modern project management theory to guide the iterative process of software development to improve software delivery efficiency and quality.This paper discusses the R&D process of N Company’s 5G base station and explores the agile program schedule control method of software project.Based on the introduction of project management knowledge system and project schedule management,this paper discusses the critical path theory in schedule management and its application in agile development soft project practice.This paper describes the whole process of agile software development project of 5G base station of N company.In the management process of project development,this paper introduces how to estimate the project duration,evaluate the project resources and estimate the project progress.By using the three-point estimation method and critical path method,the project scope confirmation,work structure decomposition,project time planning and critical path confirmation are realized.This paper introduces how to set up project monitoring points,and set up three representative monitoring points,and set up several representative monitoring points in the process of project practice,describes how to monitor the project progress and formulate rectification measures,so as to achieve the goal of controlling project progress through critical path method and delivering in advance.This paper summarizes the successful experience of critical path method in 5G base station agile software development project,in order to provide schedule management reference for similar software iterative development projects.
