| Suzhou Ancient City Section of the Grand Canal was first excavated in the 6th century BC.It is an important carrier of historical context and has influenced the blue and green spatial pattern of the city, forming the unique urban cultural landscape of the water city of Suzhou.Suzhou,as the only city with the concept of "ancient city" listed as a World Heritage Site along the Grand Canal,is an outstanding example of a canal-walled city.At present,Suzhou has built a number of public recreation Spaces, but under the impact of modern cities, the protection and development of the canal culture is relatively isolated and weak, and it has not been well integrated with the existing recreation system, and the value of the canal culture is gradually eroded. In this study, the ancient Suzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal was selected as the research object, and a systematic and diversified canal heritage corridor was constructed from the perspective of recreation. In view of the complex background environment of the canal, this study firstly sorted out historical materials, relevant literature and excellent heritage corridor cases, sorted out the theories and practices related to the heritage corridor of the canal, and summarized the elements and construction approaches of the heritage corridor.Through the study of the canal’s historical evolution, functional development and spatial pattern influence, combined with documents such as heritage list and cultural relic protection list, the historical resources were integrated and classified in detail according to relevant heritage corridor standards, thus forming the heritage corridor resource system of Suzhou ancient city section.Based on that, the construction analysis of the heritage corridor is carried out in two parts, namely, the resource points of the canal heritage corridor and the spatial environment background where it is located.Firstly, for resource points, the spatial distribution type is determined as cluster distribution by calculating the nearest neighbor index. Then, kernel density analysis was carried out on various heritage resource points to determine their spatial distribution trend. The spatial connection between resource points and canal system was explored through neighborhood analysis,so as to obtain the coverage of resource points in different ranges along the canal.Based on this, the scope and spatial level of heritage corridors in the ancient city section of Suzhou were delimit.Secondly,in view of the urban space environment, this paper calls it the corridor matrix, and conducts the recreation suitability analysis to determine the suitability of the construction of heritage corridors in different regions.Analysis using minimum cumulative resistance model, different types of corridor matrix on the construction of heritage corridor as to overcome the resistance of the process, according to different corridor through factor of resistance coefficient matrix, the calculation analysis recreation suitability, and superposition of the lowest cost path analysis results, together for the heritage corridor’s location and layout to provide important basis. Finally, based on the above, the planning of the heritage corridor in the ancient city section of Suzhou and the design of the key area Huqiu West Canal Park are carried out.The planning starts from the three aspects of heritage, canal and people-oriented,combined with the construction of recreation system,to realize the construction of a tourist heritage corridor that glorifies the city with canal, traces the past to the present, and combines the fireworks of water town.Huqiu West Canal Park, starting from four aspects of texture continuity, historical reconstruction, painting recreation and landscape ecology, builds a canal park that inherits the historical context of the canal, recovers the traditional texture, and integrates ecological elasticity and urban vitality. |
