Design Research Of Rollator For The Elderly From The Perspective Of Active Aging

In the context of an increasingly aging society,the daily travel problem of the elderly has become increasingly prominent.Travel is a necessary guarantee for the elderly to maintain their daily activities and participate in society.At the same time,urban development and the improvement of living standards not only promote the diversification of elderly travel activities,but also bring about changes in the level of travel needs.However,the current physiological degradation reduces the ability of the elderly to travel,which is not conducive to the improvement of physical and mental health and quality of life.As a tool to assist the elderly to travel,the rollator has the functions of walking assistance and rest.However,the current rollator fails to fails to respond to the demands of the elderly in travel,such as travel protection,participation experience,emotion and other demands,and the products still have problems such as simple shape,lagging design,and single function,which hinder the improvement of the elderly’s life quality.At present,as a new perspective to deal with the aging problem,active aging emphasizes the right of social participation and security while paying attention to health,which provides a new research perspective for the upgrading of mobility products.Therefore,from the perspective of active aging,this research will explores the diverse travel demands of the elderly and guides the design of rollator for the elderly,in order to meet the travel needs of the elderly and improve the quality of travel life.This study is divided into four parts.The first part is theoretical research.Firstly,the origin and definition of active aging are discussed,and its core connotation is analyzed deeply.Secondly,this study analyze the existing research and try to summarize the innovative design ideas from the perspective of active aging: guide model construction-user background exploration-demand insight analysis-design practice output-design scheme verification.Finally,the embodiment of the concept of active aging in the elderly travel and the connotation of corresponding products are analyzed to provide a theoretical basis for subsequent research and practice.The second part is product research.Firstly,the classification and product elements of the rollator for the elderly are systematically understood.Secondly,through market research and analysis of the existing domestic market,this study summary the problems in the design of the current rollator products and discuss the development trend of the rollator for the elderly.The third part is user research.Firstly,elderly’s daily travel information was collected by qualitative and quantitative research methods.Secondly,this study use scenario analysis tool to construct and analyze usage scenarios for discover user needs.Then,the hierarchy of the demand was divided by the interpretive structural mode and the connotation guidance model of elderly travel needs from the perspective of active aging was fitted,so as to conclude the connotation of the demand dimensions.Finally,the priority of requirements at all levels is obtained through the Analytic Hierarchy Process,which provides reference for subsequent design strategy and product practice.The fourth part is design practice.First of all,the design strategy of rollator for the elderly from the perspective of active aging is proposed.Then,through demand-function mapping,three functional systems of travel safety protection,activity behavior assistance and intelligent information service are obtained.Meanwhile,product design and product service system construction are carried out.Finally,comprehensive fuzzy evaluation method is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the design scheme.From the perspective of active aging,this thesis focuses on the travel life scenarios of the elderly and excavates travel needs,obtains the relevant design strategies of the elderly rollator and carries out design practice and the evaluation of the effectiveness of the design scheme,which to some extent provides a new research perspective and theoretical reference for the innovation practice of the elderly walking aid products.
