With the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the status of rural areas in my country has become more and more important. The Hakka settlement,as a relatively special settlement form, has its unique natural geographical features and social and cultural characteristics.Zengcheng has a large Hakka population, and its rich Hakka culture and unique Hakka settlement form provide good conditions for the study of Hakka settlements. As an important historical carrier of farming civilization,Hakka settlements are also necessary to be properly protected and activated,so that the Hakka settlements can be passed on better. This thesis takes the Hakka settlements in Zengcheng District,Guangzhou as a research sample, from the perspectives of urban and rural planning and human geography, and uses historical philology,GIS spatial analysis, mathematical statistics, field research and other methods to analyze the space of Hakka settlements in Zengcheng. The current distribution characteristics and historical evolution process are analyzed in depth, and a model is constructed to analyze the influencing factors of its evolution. Finally, countermeasures are put forward for the protection and activation of Hakka settlements in Zengcheng.Sustainable development puts forward more scientific reference countermeasures. The main research contents and conclusions of this thesis are as follows:(1)Analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of Hakka settlements in Zengcheng from three perspectives: overall spatial distribution characteristics, ethnic culture type characteristics and geographical environment type characteristics. Conclusion: The overall distribution characteristics of Hakka settlements in Zengcheng are: "sparse in the south and sparse in the north",dense in the south and sparse in the north, dense in the west and sparse in the east.In terms of folk culture, the number of pure Hakka settlements is more than that of Guang-ke mixed-living settlements. The distribution density of pure Hakka settlements in the northern Hakka cultural area is higher than that of Guangzhou-ke mixed-living settlements. The distribution densities are similar, and the distribution density of mixed-living Cantonese settlements in the southern Guangfu Cultural District is greater than that of pure Hakka settlements.According to the relationship between the settlement and the geographical environment, the Hakka settlements in Zengcheng are divided into four types:centralized layout, group layout, strip layout and symbolic layout, and each space type has its corresponding characteristics.(2)The historical evolution process of Hakka settlements in Zengcheng is divided into four historical periods: the mid-Ming Dynasty, the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, the mid-Qing Dynasty, and the late Qing Dynasty to the present, corresponding to the budding period, the forming period, the developing period, the maturity and stability of the spatial evolution of Hakka settlements.Expect.The degree of Hakka settlements in space has continued to deepen, but the aggregation forms are different. With the passage of time, the Hakka settlements have a trend of continuous expansion to the south of Zengcheng in space, and tended to stabilize by the end of the Qing Dynasty, laying the foundation for the current space of Hakka settlements in Zengcheng.pattern.(3)Based on the multivariate Logistic stepwise regression model, the indicators of natural geographical factors and population and economic factors were selected, and the DEM elevation data was used to visualize the influencing factors of the historical evolution of Hakka settlements through the ARCGIS overlay analysis method and the nearest neighbor analysis method.Characteristics of the historical evolution of Hakka settlements: Hakka settlements in Zengcheng tend to settle in places with high altitudes, small slopes, close to water but far from the main river, and the slope faces south.Human and social factors such as population density, farming economy, and market economy also affect the historical evolution of Hakka settlements.Various internal and external factors are intertwined to drive the continuous evolution of Hakka settlements.(4)Through the analysis of the current situation of Hakka settlements, based on the actual situation of the study area, the corresponding protection and activation strategies of Hakka settlements are proposed. And through the case study on the application of protection and activation of Gaoche Village,we will further test and improve the relevant protection and activation strategies proposed in the previous step,in order to provide feasible reference suggestions for the sustainable development of Hakka settlements.
