Study On The Production Performance Of Hetian Multi-fetal Red Sheep

Hetian multi-fetal red sheep（temporary name）is a newly sheep group found in Pishan County,Hetian Prefecture,Xinjiang Autonomous region in 2017.It is also called Pishan multi-fetal red sheep,Qiaoda multi-fetal red sheep and red Kazakh sheep by the local people.In order to understand the advantages and disadvantages of Hetian multi-fetal red sheep in terms of production,and provide reference for its breeding in the future,this experiment studied its reproductive performance,correlation between body weight and body size,early growth and development law,lactation law,slaughter performance,mutton composition and wool production performance.The results are as follows:（1）The correlation analysis of body weight and body size showed that the correlation coefficient between body weight and fat hip thickness of adult ram was the largest,which was 0.845.And the figure between body weight and chest circumference of adult ewe was the largest,which was 0.873.Path analysis results showed that fat hip thickness had the greatest direct effect on the weight of adult rams.And the chest circumference had the greatest direct effect on the weight of adult ewes.The tube circumference had the greatest indirect effect on the weight of rams and ewes.The regression equation of adult sheep body size to body weight:Y=14.564+1.750X₇（fat hip thickness）+0.279X₃（chest circumference）,R²=0.742 for ram,Y=0.450X₃（chest circumference）,R²=0.762for ewe.After verification,the regression curve equation was re established:Y=-33.494+1.136X₃（chest circumference）,R²=0.572 for ram,Y=-27.134+0.819X₃（chest circumference）,R²=0.528 for ewe.（2）The results of early growth and development of lambs showed that the body weight of male lambs and female lambs grew fastest from 1 to 2 months old.The maximum average daily gain of male lambs was 256.00 g/d,and the figure of female lambs was 219.67 g/d.The weight growth rate of lambs decreased after 2 months old.The fat hip index grew fastest from 0 to 1 month old.The curve equation of lamb weight with month age:male lamb is Y=3.383+6.020X（R²=0.952）,female lamb is Y=0.318+5.611X（R²=0.938）.（3）The results of slaughter performance showed that the slaughter rate,net meat rate and bone meat ratio of 6-month-old lambs were 49.67%,57.57%and 53.18%respectively,which were significantly different from those of adult and one-year-old lambs（P<0.05）.Six-month-old lamb is rich in 17 kinds of amino acids（173.16±2.38 g/kg）,10 minerals（zinc up to 25.70±0.18 mg/kg）and a variety of fatty acids,and the meat has good nutritional value.（4）The lactation performance of double lambing ewes showed that the total lactation of ewes from 1to 28 days after parturition was 29.874±17 kg,with average daily lactation being 1.067±36 kg.The milk yield increased fastest in the first three days,reaching the peak on the 21st day.The lactation curve equation was y=537t^0.477e^-0.033t.The milk composition index of Hetian multi-fetal red sheep decreased rapidly in 1-3 days after parturition and tended to be stable in 7-28 days.There was no significant correlation between the first day and the 14th,21st,28th day of postpartum lactation of ewes（P>0.05）,and there was no significant correlation between the second day and the 28th day of postpartum lactation（P>0.05）.There was significant correlation between the first,second,third and seventh day of postpartum lactation and breast width of ewes（P<0.05）.（6）In terms of wool production performance,the raw wool weight of adult ram was 2.30 kg,with the net wool rate being 72.81%and wool fineness 20.16μm.The raw wool weight of ewe was 1.69 kg,with the net wool rate being 72.19%and the villus fineness 20.78μm.The ratio of unmyelinated wool,myelinated wool and two types of wool of ram and ewe is approximately 1:1:1.In terms of reproductive performance,Hetian multi-fetal red sheep ewes are in oestrus all year round.The gestation period is about 150 days,with the lambing rate being 164.74%and the double lambing rate58.96%.And the survival rate of lambs is 85.26%,Hetian multi-fetal red sheep ewes were productive.In summary,Hetian multi-fetal red sheep has good production performance,having potential to become a kind of excellent local multi-fetal mutton sheep breed.The above results can provide a theoretical reference for the breeding and promotion of Hetian multi-fetal red sheep.
