| In recent years, with the rapid development of breeding industry, the demand for fodder increases accordingly. The large yield of silage wasted vegetable and its production into silage can alleviate the problem of the shortage of roughage. And,silage corn has been widely used, with good results in ruminant farming. In this study, the effects of silage wasted vegetable on growth performance, slaughter performance, meat quality, serum biochemical indices, intestinal microorganism and economic benefit of Galiba cattle were studied with silage corn as the control and Galiba cattle in the fattening period as the experimental subjects,so as to provide reference basis for the promotion of silage wasted vegetable in ruminants.Ten healthy Galiba cattle with similar body weight were randomly divided into two groups, which were fed silage corn and silage wasted vegetable, respectively. The trial lasted for 115 days, with the pre-trial period of 25 days and a formal period was 90 days. The experimental results show that:Experiment 1: The contents of crude protein(Cp),Ash(Ash)and calcium(Ca)in silage wasted vegetable group were significantly higher than those in silage corn group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in carcass weight and daily gain between the two experimental groups(P<0.05).Compared with the silage corn group, the ribeye area of Galiba cattle and shear force in the silage wasted vegetable group was significantly higher than that in the silage corn group(P<0.05),and there were no significant differences in slaughter rate, cooking percentage and water loss rate between the two groups(P>0.05).What’s more, the contents of glucose(Glu)Urea(Urea)and albumin(ALB)in serum of Galiba cattle in silage wasted vegetable group were significantly higher than those in silage corn group(P<0.05),there were no significant differences in other serum indices(P>0.05).And,the feed cost of silage wasted vegetable group was lower than that of silage corn group(P>0.05).High throughput 16 S rDNA sequencing technology was used to determine the microorganism in the Galiba cattles feces of 5 silage corn group(S)and 5 silage wasted vegetable group(V),and the diversity and community structure of the microflora were compared. It was found that the microbial diversity and community composition in the feces of Galiba cattle in Group V and Group S were significantly different. And,the abundance of fecal microorganisms in silage cron group was superior.Furthemore, the top 10 species with the highest abundances at phylum, family, and genus levels were selected for comparative analysis, which showed that the abundance of Firmicutes in the group S was significantly higher than that in the group V(P<0.05),while the abundance of Bacteroidetes,Rikenellaceae and Rikenellaceae-RC9 was significantly decreased(P<0.05).In conclusion, silage wasted vegetable with low feed cost and high nutritional value, not only it can improve the slaughter performance of fattening cattle, but increase economic benefits, thus,it has the value of popularization and application in ruminants.Compared with silage corn group, there was little difference in the dominant flora in the intestines, and, silage wasted vegetable can be substituted for silage corn in ruminants. |
