Diagnosis And Treatment Of 8 Cases Of Canine Renal Failure Caused By Leptospira

As people’s living standards improve,dogs are becoming more and more popular as companion animals,and attention to dog health has received more and more attention from dog owners.Acute renal failure is caused by the sudden decline of kidney function,and it will form a life-threatening clinical syndrome that is mainly renal dysfunction.Leptospirosis is regarded as an important infectious disease with various clinical manifestations that can cause acute Renal failure.In recent years,acute renal failure caused by Leptospira canis has shown an increasing trend in the clinical field of pets,and efficient diagnosis and treatment programs are needed to improve the cure rate of sick dogs.The source of the 8 cases studied in this paper was a pet hospital in Shanghai.All 8 cases were accompanied by acute renal failure.The authors participated in the diagnosis and treatment of all cases.Through clinical examination,laboratory examination,imaging examination,etc.of the sick dogs,it was confirmed that the sick dogs were kidney damage caused by leptospirosis infection,the data are summarized by classification and found that the clinical manifestations of the sick dogs at the early stage of the disease were mainly vomiting,visual mucosal flushing,anorexia,jaundice,and hematuria.Laboratory examination showed that the number of white blood cells increased to varying degrees,RBC and HCT decreased in 60%of cases,coagulation dysfunction occurred in 60%of dogs,the number of platelets decreased,BUN,CREA,PHOS increased significantly,and TBIL increased in some cases.Imaging examination showed that in the early stage of the disease,the kidneys were enlarged,the cortical echo was enhanced,and the dermal and medullary boundaries were not good.Some dogs were also accompanied by pulmonary bronchitis and alveolar disease.The anatomical manifestation of one case after death was a large number of bleeding spots on the surface of the lung.In this study,6 cases were selected for traditional treatment,including symptomatic treatment and anti-infection treatment,and 2 cases were treated with renal replacement therapy,symptomatic treatment and anti-infection treatment.Renal replacement therapy chooses the method of hemodialysis.This method has obvious advantages for acute renal failure cases in the anuria period and oliguria period.Suitable for use.According to the data analysis of 8 cases after treatment,the survival rates of different treatment schemes are not much different.Considering the shortcomings of the small scope and high cost of renal replacement therapy,more traditional treatment methods are used clinically.In this study,polymerase chain reaction(PCR)was used to detect leptospirosis.The accuracy of this method is relatively high,and it has strong sensitivity.It can also provide reliable technical support for the diagnosis of leptospirosis.According to the confirmed cases,supportive therapy,anti infective therapy and renal replacement therapy were adopted,and the treatment process and results were discussed and analyzed.
