According to the reading objectives of the eighth level in "The English Curriculum Standards",students should gain the ability of understanding different opinions and attitudes of different reading materials,and the writing objectives of the eighth level in"The English Curriculum Standards" require that students should gain the ability of retelling articles or writing the outlines or summaries.However,currently English teachers focus more on language points and grammar analysis,ignoring cultivating the abilities of reading and writing,thus resulting in English learners’ poor performance in reading and writing.Therefore,it is essential to do some further researches on how to teach English reading&writing effectively in class so as to develop students’comprehensive language skills,especially reading and writing skills.This study adopted two kinds of scientific research methods:literature research method and case study method.By applying Constructivism as the theoretical basis,this paper focuses on situation-based teaching design of the senior high school English reading&writing class in order to provide some feasible suggestions or modes for English teaching.Based on the large access to a lot of related references,the analysis of scholars’ views as well as the author’s own investigation,this paper puts forward four principles of designing situation-based senior high school English reading&writing class teaching:"Making full use of multimedia teaching means";"Proposing student-centered teaching";"Establishing real life situations";"Creating communicative classes".Calling for the priority of students in teaching,the author finally introduces how to apply the situation-based teaching mode to the reading&writing class teaching by citing the designs of the reading&writing lessons in two units in PEP senior English course books as examples.The aim of this paper is to offer some practicable advice on the teaching designs of senior high school English reading&writing classes. |
