Design Of Teaching Chinese Writing In A Reading And Writing Class For Foreign Beginners

In recent years, teaching Chinese Writing has drew more and more attention. It shows a rising prosperity in the area of theory and practice study of Chinese writing teaching, but obviously the research of Chinese writing stills falls behind the research of other three language skills. The present situation of teaching Chinese Writing is not so optimistic, because there are many problems in the textbooks and the teachers, especially the inappropriate teaching methods can make it worse for the students to improve their writing ability. Based on related literature, and combined with teaching practice experience, this paper presents a concrete teaching design about the writing part of a Reading and Writing class, taking the Road to Success1:upper elementary Reading and Writing as the textbook.The first chapter is introduction part. It includes the causes of selecting this subject, and some of the research achievements in teaching of Chinese writing are provided.The second part discusses the psychological mechanism of writing and the theory development process of second language writing teaching, as to lay a theoretical foundation for further discussion.The third part describes some of the current situation of teaching Chinese Writing as a second language, which covers some facts of the related textbooks and the quality of teachers. It introduces several useful teaching methods of Chinese Writing class.The part four is a summary and reflection of personal teaching practice experience, which can give some ideas to the teaching design in the following part.The last chapter presents the concrete details of the teaching design. To accomplish this design, four different writing topics from the textbook are selected, and ideas of different teaching methods are applied into the teaching steps. In this way, the question "how to teach Chinese writing to the foreign beginners " can be answered. In this paper, on the basis of the theory introduction of teaching writing and summary of personal teaching practice, the author makes effort to figure out a better way to teach writing, hoping it can be helpful to the future writing teaching practice.
