The Pragmatic Text Translation Under The Guidance Of Parallel Texts

The translation of pragmatic texts plays a remarkable role not only in daily communication but also in the exchange among the fields of politics,economy and culture,etc.Most importantly,with the deepening of China’s culture influence,the translation research on the fields of traditional Chinese history and culture is destined to get more attention.With-the theory foundation of parallel texts and the auxiliary of functional translation,this thesis takes the pragmatic texts as research object and thoroughly discusses the significance of this approach in pragmatic texts translation,especially in the historical and cultural texts translation.By analyzing the aspects of dictation,syntax and writing style,the author found that since the great difference of language,culture and thinking pattern between China and the West,a text of same content differs a lot in the Chinese and English language context,which needs further research.In this thesis,the translation in English language context functions as the reference-parallel texts.On one hand,it enables the translator to make rectifications and assessments on his own translation.On the other hand,the translator could take advantages of the parallel texts in order to conclude more suitable translation methods of his own.In addition,due to the rapid development of Internet,the materials collected by the author vary in forms and contents and not all of them are available.Thus,the translator is required to take initiatives to identify the authenticity by analyzing more than one parallel texts and making cross-validation.
