A corporate website is an informational website operated by a business with the aim of marketing and promoting the company’s values and products. However, sites of China’s wine or liquor enterprises tend to shoulder more duties of wine culture publicity owing to the splendid wine culture of China. This translation report, based on the text of the website of Shandong Jimo Millet Liquor Brewery Co.,Ltd., concentrates on how to produce a good translation catering for the target language readers, so as to guarantee a successful transcultural communication and also to serve as a good model for similar translating tasks.This report first gives the description of the task, including reasons why the source text is selected and analysis of the textual features of the text of the Chinese website. And then it shows that the translating process consists of pre-translating preparation and translating, each with different translating quality controlling methods and tools. Next the report analyzes that the theory of translation variation works well in translating the text of Jimo Millet Liquor website and the comparison of parallel texts performs well in selecting translation strategies. At last, it focuses on main issues of how to translate cultural factors and to use editing translation for a reasonable information readjustment, which are further illustrated through nine typical examples.From the perspective of translating process, it is found that a good preparation is of great importance. When translating operative texts like the text of the website of Shandong Jimo Millet Liquor Brewery Co.,Ltd., reading and comparing parallel texts of English websites of famous domestic and overseas wine companies are the most effective ways to grasp the rules and conventions of the target language and demands of English readers. Meanwhile, because of being one category of publicity materials, translation of the text on the website must achieve functional equivalence with the source text. As a result, the translator should readjust the structure and information of the website and whatever he or she does is to satisfy the demands of English readers.
