| Eugene Nida is a famous American linguist, translator and translation theorist who Known as "one of the most influential theorists of the translation industry." Nida is the first Western translation theorist introduced to China and has made an important contribution to the development of China’s translation studies. In the 1970s,Nida introduced the theory of "functional equivalence"."functional equivalence" not only highlights the content of the text of the reciprocal, but also put forwards as much as possible the pursuit of formal equivalence. In the broad sense,Nida’s"functional equivalence" and "dynamic equivalence" still emphasize the equivalence of information, and attach importance to the acceptance of target readers. The first chapter introduces the preparatory work before the translation.Firstly I confirmed the type of text"tourism and discovery of Japan:mobile and traffic cultural formation".It is involved in the history of tourism reports.Secondly,I introduced the preparation of the the dictionaries.Thirdly,I introduced the plan Ⅰ did to finish the translation of the target text. Finally,I mentioned the theoretical principles of this report which has been introduced before. The second chapter uses Nida’s functional equivalence translation theory to analyze the concrete example. In the field of vocabulary, mainly discusses the translation of people’s name and place. From the vocabulary, grammar to the specific analysis.Grammar mainly discusses passive clauses and classical grammar.Among them,in grammar, classical translation is the biggest challenge to me.The third chapter discusses two techniques of the translation. In order that the recipients of the target text can understand the original text, translators need to analyze the the hidden elements of the text.At the same time, the translators also need to delete the vocabulary appropriately according to the context. At the end of the report,I concluded the experience through the translation practice and stated my viewpoint.Nida’s functional equivalence translation theory has a huge and far-reaching impact on the translation industry, but it does not mean that it is always useful for every field. We should comprehensively view the limitations of functional equivalence theory. |
