| Chinese traditional handicrafts are not only the crystallization of culture and wisdom of all minorities,but also valuable tourism resources.Guizhou,a province with rich variety of traditional handicrafts,is a place full of dynamic cultural heritages.Guizhou government has worked out a industrialization development strategy for the native traditional handicrafts and has vigorously promoted them as characteristic tour commodities.However,a great many rural inheritors of the traditional handicrafts have been leaving for cities in the urbanization process,which means many handicrafts are going to die out.Meanwhile,most cultural products based on the traditional handicrafts are unable to meet the demands of the market due to lacking of design innovation and narrow distribution channels.All in all,the inheritance and innovation as well as the industrialization of the traditional handicrafts in Guizhou are faced with more challenges than one.A variety of research and exploration on the inheritance and innovation of the traditional handicrafts have been made by many experts and scholars at home and abroad.Live transmission,productive protection,industrialization and so forth have been the focal points.Although some achievements have been made and a series of theories have been put forward,there are still 3 pain points or bottle-neck problems.The first is the short of in-depth cognition for the internal mechanism of inheritance of the live transmission;the second is the absence of an accessible path for the productive protection;the third is the lack of the balance between business and social problem solving for industrialization.In the meantime,design thinking,also known as “Design-Driven Innovation” is a popular brand-new method for solving problems at home and abroad.It is not only a kind of ontology,but also a kind of methodology with complete theoretical system and practical technical route.It has been proved to be effective and successful in the practice of numerous products.Few essays retrieved from literature make use of design thinking to study the inheritance and innovation of the traditional handicrafts.Through the analyses and discussions of the foreign successful cases,we positively believe design thinking can be the theories and methods for solving the above 3 pain points to a great extent.With the help of these theories and methods,this thesis makes a systematic research on the inheritance and innovation of the traditional handicrafts in hope of realizing the live transmission and the productive protection.The following aspects are elaborated in this thesis:Firstly,systematic research and detailed discussion are made to the theories and methods of design thinking.Design thinking is a series of theories and methods concluded in practice.It is people-oriented and innovation-based.Requirement of users,feasibility of the technology and business sustainability are the 3 consistent prerequisites which are interdependent and indispensable.Meanwhile,design thinking has a set of complete technical route(posed by Stanford Design School),namely,a coherent and iterative process consisted of empathizing,defining,ideation,prototype and test.Secondly,taking Miao silver jewelries,embroideries and so on as the research objects,we have findings after studying the live transmission mechanism of Guizhou traditional handicrafts of minorities based on the theories and methods of design thinking with field work.For traditional handicrafts of minorities,there exist 3 prerequisites,namely,internal demand,feasibility of the technology and business sustainability.These prerequisites have formed a dynamic,interdependent and recurrent endogenous impetus with innovation.In this situation,a dynamic and live inheritance and innovation mechanism,which is characterized as mutually transformational inheritance and innovation,always works.Innovation as the soul of the traditional handicrafts of minorities,is the start point and standpoint of creative activities of the traditional handicrafts.The innovation path of the traditional handicrafts of minorities always follow what design thinking advocates,namely,a coherent and iterative process consisted of empathizing,defining,ideation,prototype and test.Unfettered culture is the source power of the inheritance and innovation,while cultural ecological space is their guarantee.Thirdly,based on the theories and methods of design thinking with practice achievements,we have a study and practice for the innovative development of Guizhou traditional handicrafts of minorities.In the process of innovative development,the extended relationship of the internal and external society as well as demands,feasibility of the technology,business sustainability and innovation must be dealt with properly.In this way,an orderly cycling process can be formed.Innovation leads to development,the latter promotes inheritance who facilitates innovation accordingly.Through empirical cases,the Chain Reaction innovative inheritance model is obtained.Taking 3 kinds of innovative models as examples,namely,indigenous innovative development model based on traditional handicraftsmen,popular product innovation model based on young designers,and brand innovation model based both on traditional handicraftsmen and young designers,realization path under the theories and methods of design thinking is discussed in this thesis.Based on the discussion above,we draw a conclusion that the theories and methods of design thinking,the live transmission mechanism and the innovative development of traditional handicrafts of minorities are in a relation of mutual promotion,interdependence and organic integration.We hope that through this research a model of inheritance and innovation with universal significance based on the theories and methods of design thinking can be put forward to offer a practical and effective solution and path to the live transmission and productive protection of traditional handicrafts of minorities of Guizhou and the whole country as well as to the development of ethnic cultural industry and characteristic tour commodities. |
