| As a key component of China’s fourth translation wave,popular science translation has not received much attention in both domestic and global translation fields with relevant studies being far from enough.This translation practice report chooses several chapters of a foreign popular science reading named Gargoyle Geckos as the source text,aims to make an in-depth and easy-to-understand commentary on the difficulties and highlights arising from the translation process from the perspectives of lexical accuracy,phonology,understandability,and expressiveness;syntactic logicality;and discoursal authenticity based on the theory of Professor Guo Jianzhong’s Four Characteristics of Popular Science Translation,and seeks translations that best suit these four characteristics in the hope that the practice report can inspire translators to further study and value popular science translation. |
