| Folk life stories are literary creations handed down from mouth to mouth in people’s lives.As an important type of folk stories,their generation and circulation have stable motif plot and narrative structure.At the same time,they are deeply influenced by regional culture and present different creative styles and artistic characteristics.This paper uses text analysis,story type research and comparative storytelling research methods,taking"Chinese Folk Tales Integrated in Ningxia Volume" and "Chinese Folk Tales Integrated in Hebei Volume" as research objects,selects 157 folk life stories in Ningxia and 91 in Hebei,compares the types of folk life stories in Ningxia and Hebei according to the motif plot,and discusses the regional cultural connotation,local customs,moral concepts and aesthetic taste behind the two storiesThis article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter first analyzes the concept definition and main characteristics of folk life stories,and then discusses the knowledge dissemination,cultural inheritance function and the responsibility of entertaining through teaching undertaken by folk life stories in social life.Then,the natural background and humanistic background of the creation of folk life stories in Ningxia and Hebei are summarized respectively,thus the social factors of the story generation in the two places are analyzed.The second chapter sums up the similarities and differences of the motif plots in the folk life stories of the two places.The two places are divided into six types of stories:the story of long-term work fighting the landlord,the story of filial piety,the story of clever girl,the story of silly son-in-law,the story of questioning ghosts and gods,and the story of odd and clever marriage.Meanwhile,the motif plots of these life stories are summarized and listed,and the similarities and differences of motif plots under the same type of stories in the two places are discussed.In the third chapter,the above six types of stories are placed in the cultural background of the two places for discussion and interpretation.First,the similarities and variations of the above six types of stories are discussed from the aspects of role setting,story content and narrative style Then,the presentation reasons of the same motif are analyzed,with emphasis on the diligent and open-minded character quality,the moral concepts and ethical thoughts commonly recognized by the people and their identification psychology and aesthetic tendency to life story selection under the influence of the Yellow River culture.Finally,from the perspective of regional culture comparison,this paper explores the variability of the motif of life stories influenced by the production and life style,traditional culture and folk customs of the two places,and then analyzes the main manifestations and cultural reasons of straightforward and tactful neutralization,questioning ghosts and gods and believing in fate,pursuing freedom and following etiquette,romantic imagination and realistic analysis in the life stories of Ningxia and Hebei.Conclusion Summarizes the cultural connotation of homology and difference of motif plot in the life stories of Ningxia and Hebei under their respective regional cultural backgrounds. |
