| This report is based on the translation of three articles selected from a book named Learning Technology for Education Challenges.The book is compiled by Lorna Uden,a professor of Staffordshire University in England.It collects 40 articles at the 8th LTEC Conference(2019),covering all aspects of educational technology.These three articles selected from the book give a detailed introduction and analysis of AR and VR technology in the STEM education field,video courses of online education and the challenges of online education.According to Reiss’s Text Typology Theory,the source text should be classified as an informative text which aims to convey the referential and conceptual contents.In order to fully transmit the information of the source text without being confined by its form,the translator adopts translation skills such as conversion,division,recasting and explicitation under the guidance of Reiss’s Text Typology Theory.This report is composed of four chapters.Chapter One briefly introduces the translation project and its significance.Chapter Two presents a detailed analysis of the source text,including the contents and linguistic features.Chapter Three discusses the translation process,translation difficulties,the guiding theory and solutions to the difficulties of dealing with compound words,terms,nominalizations,polysemy,long and complex sentences as well as textual cohesion.Chapter Four draws a conclusion of the gains and inspirations in the translation process,and unsolved problems are also mentioned in this chapter.Based on the analysis of typical examples,this report summarizes the translation skills of dealing with the text of the same type,aiming to provide some reference for other translators. |
