| As a tool of communication,the importance of oral English should be self-evident.To meet the students’ learning need for oral English and improve their oral ability,the teaching mode of many schools is gradually changing and improving,but there is no obvious effect.In this situation,a large number of training institutions came into being and developed rapidly.Some foreign language training institutions have their own independent set of teaching concepts and learning models,which are relatively mature.Therefore,the questions of this thesis mainly focus on the oral English teaching of the two.The specific issues are as follows:(1)What are the teaching concepts of public schools and training institutions?(2)In the teaching of oral English,what kind of class model and teaching method are used by training institution and public school?Because of the large number of training institutions,the researcher selected a foreign language training institution in Beijing as a research object by sampling survey.This institution is one of the most mature institutions in China,which is representative.On the other hand,the researcher selected a middle school in this city as the research object.First,the researcher audit and record the English class by observation,then use the interview method to interview teachers and students,and finally use the results of the survey to make a comparative analysis.In this paper,the researcher records the two classes in the form of class cases,and explains the class model and teaching methods after analysis.Based on the comparison of public school and foreign language training institutions in the above aspects,the researcher finds out their similarities and differences,and summarizes their significance for the teaching of spoken English in public schools.After researching,the author of this thesis finds that compared with the public school,the teaching of training institution can be used for reference to English spoken.First of all,its teaching philosophy has been ahead of most public middle schools.Foreign language training institutions are more committed to the creation of teaching situation;learn in a relaxed environment,and no longer advocate the pattern drill repeatedly.In terms of teaching mode,they are committed to the development of a dual-teacher system,which has paid more attention to students and greatly increased the opportunities for each student to practice oral English.In terms of teaching methods,they have their own unique set of teaching methods-Teaching seven-steps method.It combines review,learning new lessons and exercises into one class,which is more productive and diverse.In public school,the teaching of spoken English is still base on situational teaching and communicative methods.Based on the results of the study,the author tries to draw from training institution to make suggestions on oral English teaching in public schools.Schools can refer to the teaching methods and teaching models of training institutions,adopt the advantages of double-teacher model and seven-step teaching method,and establish a truly student-centered classroom to improve class interaction.The ultimate goal is to helping every student overcome the "phobia" and speak English. |
