With the emergence of schema theory,improvement and development of schema theory by "second-generation cognitive science" and the interaction of different types of knowledge in the process of reading comprehension,the deep research of English reading teaching has received extensive attention.This essay starts from the concept of schema,reading and reading teaching,take schema theory as the main body,combined with schema reading theory,regard upper students in primary schools as research perspective,analyzing the inherent relation between schema theory and the English reading teaching in primary school high-level as well as discussion the guidance role of schema theory in the teaching of English reading in higher grades of primary school.Through observation,interview and other methods,to understand the problems existing in English reading teaching and the reasons for the problems,using the test paper,before and after the action research,carry out a pre-test and a post-test on a certain class of sixth grade students,to compare the changes of students' reading scores under the guidance of schema theory.The results show that English reading teaching under the guidance of schema theory can help to improve reading level and reading comprehension ability.The findings of this study can help to update the model of reading teaching process and provide suggestions for perfection of reading teaching and teaching practice.There are seven parts in this essay.The first part is introduction,which aims at explanation concepts of the schema,reading and reading teaching,arrangement the research status of the schema theory and reading teaching,making sure the research direction of the essay.The second part focus on discussion the relationship between schema theory and reading,the feasibility and necessity of the integration of the schema theory and reading teaching,are which is helpful for the construction of reading teaching mode at the guidance of the schema the theory.The third part is the analysis of current phenomenon.By analyzing the current situation of the primary school high-level,there are some problems in the aspects of teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching practice and teaching evaluation.For the teaching objectives,it lacks of comprehensive and perceptiveness.For the teaching content,it lacks of enrichment and expansion.For the teaching practice,it lacks of systematic and hierarchical.For the teaching evaluation,it lacks of encouragement and pluralism.The fourth part is teaching designing,based on problems and characteristics of the research targets,to design teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching practice and teaching evaluation.The fifth part is teaching conduction,during the two-rounds action research,researcher conduct-rethinkadjust-redesign-practice-summary of the teaching designing.The last part is the analyzing of conduction effect and reflection,including the analyzing the reading teaching effect at the guidance of the schema theory,making conclusions and providing the suggestions of perfection teaching.
