The female problem in India has a long history,and it is a historical remnant of a long-term feudal society.Under the influence of modern civilization,although the Indian women’s liberation movement and women’s protection organizations have gradually emerged and established,to this day,Indian women are still oppressed by traditional ideas,bad rules and habits,and the majority of women groups at the bottom still lack the examination of consciousness and identification of self-worth.many Indian female writers have written pens for women based on self-awareness and a strong sense of social responsibility,aiming at the issue of Indian women can cause widespread concern in society.As one of the representative writers of contemporary Indian female writers,Mamta Kalia expresses her concerns and thinking about the destiny of contemporary Indian females from the perspective of female writers,and reflects female issues by describing social reality.This article mainly adopts the method of text intensive reading to discuss the feminine consciousness of Mamta Kalia’s fictions from the perspective of post-colonial feminism in the following three aspects: the first part introduces the life and creative experience of Mamta Kalia;the second part discusses the generation context of Indian women’s issues,that is,the times context and cultural context;The third part discusses the main content of feminine consciousness in Mamta Kalia’s fictions: the shaping of female images and the criticism of traditional society.Mamta Kalia’s fiction creation has always been centered on women,and feminine consciousness has always been implemented.The feminine consciousness embodied in her fictions is a criticism of the bad habits of traditional society and an appreciation of women’s self-affirmation.It has extensive and far-reaching literary and social value. |
