The Influence Of Internet On Film Production Network Structure

The Internet has brought great changes to the development mode of traditional industries.Many industries have accelerated the integration with the Internet to realize innovation and upgrading.Under the influence of the Internet,the film industry is also experiencing great changes.Traditional film companies are using Internet technology and Internet model to seek new development potential.Internet companies have also entered various links of the film industry chain,bringing new resources and injecting new vitality into the whole film industry.In this context,the online movie emerged,and in a few years to achieve rapid development.Online movie is a new form of film industry under the influence of the Internet.Inherent Internet gene makes online movie industrial organizations is different from cinema film’s industrial organizations.This paper selects 305 cinema films and 1025 online movies as samples released in China in 2017,and compares the differences in the production network structure between cinema film and online movie from the enterprise dimension and city dimension by using social network analysis method,and further analyzes the influence of Internet on the production network structure of film industry by using econometric analysis method and QAP analysis method.The research shows that: First,in terms of spatial structure,compared with the cinema film,on a large spatial scale,online movie production enterprises are more concentrated in the eastern coastal areas,the proportion of online movie production enterprises gathered in the east coast is 5.04% higher than that of cinema film production enterprises.However,on a small spatial scale,the online movie production enterprises are more dispersed in the eastern region,the proportion of online movie production enterprises in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration is 3.8% lower than that of cinema film production enterprises,while the proportion of online movie production enterprises in Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and GuangdongHong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is 2.54% higher than that of cinema film production enterprises.Second,in terms of topology,compared with the cinema film,the production network of the online movie have fewer nodes,less connectivity,larger average shortest path and lower central potential on the city dimension and the enterprise dimension.But the difference in the enterprise dimension is more pronounced,the nodes of the online movie production network are 1176 more than the cinema film production network;the connectivity of the online movie production network is 15.76 less than the cinema film production network;the average shortest path of the online movie production network is 1.68 larger than the cinema film production network;the central potential of the online movie production network is 18.66% lower than the cinema film production network.In addition,compared with cinema film,the strongest cohesive subgroup of online movie production network is composed of private enterprises,which breaks through the organizational proximity and makes the connection between enterprise nodes more open and diversified.Third,results of econometric model show that the level of Internet development in cities has a positive impact on the number of film production enterprises,and has a greater impact on the number of online movie production enterprises.Keep the other variables constant,the Internet index increase 1,the number of online movie production enterprises increase by 3.74 more than the number of cinema film production enterprises.Fourth,results of QAP model show that the level of Internet development between cities has a positive impact on the connection between film production enterprises,and it has a greater impact on online movie,favorable Internet infrastructure promotes more production links between cities in online movie industry.
