In 2012,The China On the Tip Of The Tongue opened the market of Chinese food documentary.Since then,a large number of documentary films focusing on food culture have sprung up.These documentaries show the rich products of China and the profound distribution of Chinese cuisine.What’s more,the food documentary has become a kind of media,showing the world a rich and colorful traditional Chinese culture.Many scholars have studied the documentary of food culture from different perspectives,mostly from the perspective of international communication and creation methods,but no predecessors have systematically studied the language phenomenon of such documentary from the perspective of linguistics.Therefore,through a certain number of samples collection,based on the theory of general linguistics,this paper studies the naming motivation of Chinese food documentary.It can be found that these names occupy the main position with four syllables,and are mainly presented in the structural form of partial positive phrases.Through the exploration of the language characteristics of the commentaries,we find that they have a strong sense of rhythm and art.Combined with multimodal theoretical knowledge,it is found that there is an interactive relationship between commentary,sound and painting.Finally,by digging the national customs,human feelings and traditional culture behind the commentaries,we can deepen people’s recognition of Chinese civilization.
