A Study Of Miao Yue’s Ci-poetry

Miao Yue was an important scholar in the 20 th century when traditional and modern Ci poetry collided.His research articles on Ci are mainly collected in his Shici San Lun,national Ci writer in Chinese History and Lingxi Ci Shuo,which is co-written with Chia-ying Yeh,and include Ci style,Ci writer and History of Ci poetry in Tang and Song dynasties.This paper discusses the three parts,by the introduction and four chapters body composition.The first part of the introduction is a summary of Miao Yue’s life and works,and the current situation of the research on Miao Yue’s Ci.Miao Yue’s two books on Ci were not an abrupt appearance,but were at the peak of the study of Ci in the 1930 s and 1940 s,and the 1980 s and 1990 s,at that time,famous scholars and hot spots of Ci poetry had great influence on Miao Yue’s Ci poetry.At present,some achievements have been made in the study of Miao Yue Ci in the academic Circle.Generally speaking,there are articles on Miao Yue’s research methods,Miao Yue and Miao Yue’s memorial in the 20 th century,however,the overall research on the achievements of his Ci poetry is relatively deficient.Chapter One discusses Miao Yue’s research on Ci style,including the origin of Ci,the meaning of the name "Ci",the Development process of Ci Style and the aesthetic feeling and characteristics of Ci style.Miao Yue also selectively absorbed the new ideas while developing the traditional ones.In the case of inheriting the research achievements of predecessors,he further emphasized that Ci bears the most delicate part of the artistic conception of human feelings,the author holds that the expression of words should be exquisite and meticulous in order to be commensurate with the content.In addition,Miao Yue’s another special way to study Ci is to compare Chinese and Western poetic styles to illustrate the characteristics of Ci and its literary status.The Second Chapter Discusses Miao Yue on the history of the Tang and Song dynasties.Miao Yue and Chia-ying Yeh in Lingxi ci shuo,generally in the order of the times in which the writer to comment on the status of the impact of Ci,but alsointerspersed in which the succession of Ci,three-dimensional show the history of the development of Tang and Song Ci.Miao Yue in view,the late Tang Dynasty and the five dynasties Ci have pioneering work,the prosperity of Ci in the Northern Song Dynasty,to the southern song only remaining afterglow.Although Miao Yue’s description of the history of Ci in Tang and Song Dynasties is not intuitive,it has great influence on the research of Ci history.Chapter Three Discusses Miao Yue on the Study of the Ci writer.Miao Yue wrote The National Ci writer in The History of China in the Republic of China in order to inspire patriotic youth,and was invited to complete the commentary on Shi Dazu in the1980 s.Miao Yue thought that the Ci of Southern Song Dynasty was in decline,but he put forward the National Ci of Southern Song Dynasty was the essence that could not be ignored.Miao Yue also noted the characteristics of the ancient female poets represented by Li Qingzhao.Miao Yue made full use of his historical specialty when he studied the Ci writer,and listed their life and related deeds in detail,so as to accord with the situation of Ci writer and Related Ci Poems.The conclusion discusses the position and influence of Miao Yue’s Ci poetry.Miao Yue is not specialized in the study of Ci,his achievements in the field of history are more prominent,but his achievements in the field of Ci research can not be ignored.His views on Ci poetry are unique and thought-provoking,and based on the respect for the views of predecessors,he carefully and deeply studied the Ci poems of Ci writer and put forward his original ideas,which are often quoted by scholars On the attitude of strict and objective,for each poet as far as possible impartial,from the poet’s own position to comment on the situation of Ci.In short,Miao Yue was a scholar with a position in the academic Circle of Ci in the 20 th century.
