| As one of the core components of individual self-knowledge,self-esteem has been one of the hotspots in psychological research.Self-esteem has great significance to the individual’s mental health and personality development.Primary and secondary school students are in the critical period of self-esteem development.Therefore,improving the level of self-esteem is so significance for primary and middle school students’ mental health and personality development.There are many researches on improving self-esteem of elementary and middle school students,but whether the intervention strategies are effective,which way is more effective,and which factors affect the amount of effect of self-esteem improvement.There are not specific or unified answers.The meta-analysis is very suitable for answering the above questions.To this end,this paper searches,includes,excludes,and encodes research on self-esteem interventions at home and abroad.In this paper,the literature related to self-esteem intervention was collected,coded.By using meta-analysis method,64 articles about primary and secondary school students were analyzed in order to find the most effective intervention methods and adjustment variables.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Self-esteem can be intervened and the existing self-esteem intervention methods are effective,reaching a medium-level effect(g = 0.734).(2)Moderating variables such as intervention type,group type,intervention cycle,grades,and scale type did not regulate the effect of self-esteem intervention significantly.(3)Different intervention methods have a significant regulating effect on the effect of self-esteem intervention.The effect of art therapy was the best(g = 1.579),and the effect of sandplay therapy(g = 1.295)and group counseling(g = 0.706)was also good.The effect of behavioral therapy is not obvious.(4)Countries has a significant regulating effect on the effect of self-esteem intervention.The effect of domestic self-esteem intervention is obviously better than that of foreign self-esteem intervention.(5)Article type has a significant regulating effect on the effect of self-esteem intervention.The effect of a master is significantly higher than that of a journal thesis.(6)The times of interventions has a significant regulating effect on the effect of self-esteem intervention.When the interventions was about 8 times,self-esteem intervention had the best effect. |
