The prevention and intervention of social anxiety is the focus of attention of the current school and society. The Guidelines for Mental Health Education in Primary and Middle Schools clearly state that Social anxiety is one of the most common psychological problems for Primary and middle school students.Because adolescence is a high incidence of social anxiety,it will inevitably affect the development in social, education, quality of life, etc.,and even endanger the health of a lifetime. Therefore,Early implementation of effective prevention and intervention has clear potential benefits. There are many empirical studies on social anxiety for Primary and middle school students in China and abroad. But the evidence for many measures is limited. Therefore, this study aims to.(1)Using meta-analysis technology, the immediate and tracking effect of social anxiety intervention on primary and secondary school students were discussed.(2)Taking immediate effect as the outcome variable, this paper discusses the moderating effect of 12 variables in four aspects:the characteristics of subjects, intervention, research and publication.(3)It will provide guidance for the selection of intervention measures in the field of social anxiety practice.Through the retrieval and selection of English and Chinese databases,A total of 85 literatures were finally included in this study.Published between 2000 and 2018,it included 35 articles in foreign languages and 50 articles in Chinese, involving 91 independent studies and4,021 subjects.Quality assessment, data coding and extraction were conducted for the included studies.CMA3.0 software was used for statistical Analysis. The results:(1)Among the 91 studies, the immediate effect g=1.17,and the tracking effect g value of 38 studies was 0.94,all achieving significant large effects. It shows that the intervention of social anxiety in primary and secondary school students is effective and has a lasting effect.(2)In subgroup analysis and stratified regression analysis, the effects of different intervention measures vary significantly. The effect value is from large to small:Sand therapy,Sports games,Combination of psychotropic drugs,Cognitive behavioral therapy,Art therapy,Group psychological counseling,Cognitive therapy,Behavioral therapy,Internet-Cognitive behavioral therapy, and Cognitive bias modification; The effect value of eastern countries was significantly higher than that of western countries; The effect value of the non-randomized control was significantly higher than that of the randomized control,The contribution values of each variable are: country region, experiment design, intervention measures. It indicates that theimmediate effect of social anxiety intervention is regulated by intervention measures, national region and experimental design, among which national region has the greatest influence on the effect value.(3)In the univariate regression analysis, the study quality significantly negatively predicted the effect of social anxiety intervention. This indicates that the quality of the research is a moderating factor for the immediate effect of social anxiety intervention And the lower the research quality, the higher the effect value.(4)The publication bias test show that the risk of publication bias in this meta-analysis is small.Overall, the meta-analysis of social anxiety interventions is relatively stable.Future studies should improved on research quality, outcome indicators,cost-effectiveness and other moderating variables.
