A Study On Gu Zhenguan’s Poetry

Gu Zhenguan was one of the outstanding literati in Shun Zhi and Kang Xi literary circle in Qing Dynasty.Gu Zhenguan,together with Chen Weisong and Zhu Yizun,and Cao Zhenji and Nalan Xingde,were called "three unique poets in Beijing".They played an important role in the literary circle in the early Qing Dynasty.Gu Zhenguan’s poems and Ci have five kinds of theme types,such as chanting emotion,reward giving,love,chanting history,nostalgia and timely administration.The content of the poems is more about the loneliness of wandering,the sigh of inaction and the sorrow of poverty and suffering.The number of poems is more than that of the poems.In the way of emotional expression,the poems are more straightforward and implicit.The poems on the theme of reward and answer are mostly about the pain of separation from friends and deep friendship with teachers and friends,and they have clear related objects,but in terms of artistic effect,words are better than poems.The theme of love,the content of which mostly describes the resentment and sweet and moving love of the boudoir women,the number of Ci poems is far greater than that of poems.Poems on the theme of history and nostalgia write two themes: nostalgia,self injury and emotion expression,but the poems tend to write things,while the poems emphasize lyricism.There are only two poems about current affairs,but the number of poems is large,and current affairs poems are full and profound.Gu Zhenguan’s poems show the common features of depression,sadness and fresh nature.Gu Zhenguan’s poems mostly express deep and gloomy feelings,but there are also a large number of poems with natural and clear language to write the fresh natural scenery.The different aesthetic characteristics of the basic poems,Gu Zhenguan’s poems have their own unique style,that is,they are lingering,soft and clear.Gu Zhenguan attached great importance to the conclusion of sentences.Most of his poems were based on scenery,but his poems were good at complex sentences,while his poems preferred to ask questions.Gu Zhenguan’s poems are mostly aboutdreams and memories,and he is good at constructing dual time and space,writing from the perspective of both virtual and real,which expands the expressiveness of his works.Gu Zhenguan,a scholar,often introduced "classics" and "history" into his poems,which increased the connotation of his works.Gu Zhenguan’s literary thoughts are mainly in three aspects: the respect of Ci style,the expression of spirit and the combination of collection and acquisition.He objected to regard Ci as the surplus of poetry,expanded the scope of Ci and tried to improve the status of Ci.Gu Zhenguan’s poems are not just words,but emotional expression.Gu Zhenguan’s poems are not unique,but can absorb many advantages for his own use.
