| The higher requirements and challenges for primary school English teachers put forward by curriculum reform and the promulgation of English Curriculum Standard(2011)require higher professional quality.As the leader of children’s English enlightenment and learning,the level of professional quality of primary school English teachers directly affects and determines the level and ability of primary school students’ English level.Through the investigation and study,it is found that the overall level of professional quality of primary school English teachers in Erdao District of C City is high,but there are still some problems to be further solved.Therefore,how to clarify the connotation of the professional quality of primary school English teachers is the starting point of this study,and how to improve the primary school English teachers.Professional quality is the goal of this study.Through the collection and arrangement of Chinese and foreign documents,I have defined the concept and divided the structure of teachers’ professional quality and primary school English teachers’ professional quality.On this basis,165 teachers from 6 primary schools in Erdao District of C City were investigated by questionnaire and interview.After the collection of the questionnaire,according to the results of the data analysis,this paper summarizes the current problems of the primary school English teachers’ professional quality,such as the weak professional belief,the unbalanced development of professional knowledge,the unbalanced professional ability and the weak professional spirit.Through interviews,it is found that the main reasons for the improvement of the professional quality of local primary school English teachers are: the influence of different factors such as age,teaching age,professional title and specialty of primary school English teachers,the lack of pertinence of pre service education and post service continuing education,the lack of teachers’ professional quality cultivation and promotion,the weak awareness of teachers’ self-improvement,the lack of education and teaching concepts,and the lackof teachers The teaching task is heavy,and the work pressure greatly affects the promotion of their own professional quality.Therefore,in view of the problems and reasons found in the survey,this paper puts forward targeted suggestions from the aspects of strengthening the moral education of teachers,strengthening the pertinence of pre service education,optimizing post service education,promoting the improvement of teachers’ teaching and research ability and teaching reflection ability,introducing excellent English teachers through multiple channels,improving the management system and retaining talents,so as to comprehensively improve the professional quality of primary school English teachers,And then to promote the development of primary school English education in Erdao District of C City. |
