An E-C Translation Report On Sci-tech Text From The Perspective Of Communicative Translation Theory

In these days,the rapid growth of science and technologies like Al and big data has profound influence on both human being’s life,work and even the whole society.While enjoying the pleasure brought by some advanced technologies,human come to have a deep reflection on their shortcomings in practical use.Those new ideas and technologies developed abroad push the translator to convey those powerful voices so as to make tech enthusiasts,learners and scholars keep pace with them.In this way,it is of great importance to have an in-depth understanding of sci-tech text and translate it.This report concerning to AI and big data is based on the translation published on yeeyan.com during the author’s graduate program.It consists of five parts.In chapter one,the author mainly introduces the background and significance of the project as well as the report structure.In chapter two,the author shows the definition of sci-tech text,elaborates on features of sci-tech text and literature review of sci-tech text.In chapter three,the author describes communicative translation theory to be employed in this report,including literature review and practical applications of communicative translation theory.In chapter four,the author analyzes translation strategies used while she translating on lexical level,syntactical level and textual level.In the last chapter,the author summarizes major findings and limitations,and then proposes suggestions for the translation.
