| During the Yuan and Ming dynasties,poetics flourished in the Fujian region,and is strongly influenced by the Zongtang tradition of restoration.Among these,Du Fu’s poetics occupied an important place as part of the development of Fujian literature.During the Ming dynasty,the literati of Fujian revered Du Fu and studied his poetry,leading to a local culture of annotating Du Fu’s poetry and producing a large number of works on Du Poetry.Starting from these poetic texts,the two elements of Du Fu’s poetry commentary and Fujian are combined so as to examine the group and inclusiveness presented by local Du Fu’s poetry studies,and to get a sense of the inheritance of Du Fu’s poetry thought,the modelling of his poetic creation and the identification of his poetic spirit by researchers of Du Fu’s poetry.The aim of this paper is to explore the development of Du Fu’s poetics in Fujian during the Ming Dynasty.The introductory section introduces the origin of the chosen topic,the current state of research,and the research methodology.The first chapter provides an overview of the background to the development of Du Fu’s poetics in Fujian during the Ming dynasty,expanded in three parts.The first section begins with the historical development and geographical environment of the Fujian region,elucidating the historical and natural background to the development of Du Fu’s poetics;the second section deals with the influence of social and cultural traditions on regional literature in Fujian;the third section focuses on the development of poetics in Fujian during the Ming dynasty and the literati’s study and discussion of Du Fu’s poetics,exploring their in heritance of Du Fu’s poetic ideas,their modelling of poetic composition and their identification with the spirit of poetry.Chapters two and three are the focus of the thesis,looking at the whole and the parts from two different perspectives.Chapter 2 examines the overall situation of the study of Du Fu’s poetics in Fujian during the Ming dynasty,divided into two areas:first,an overview of the Ming dynasty Fujian annotated texts on Du Fu’s poetics,with an analysis of twenty-two Du poetry texts;second,an analysis of the Ming dynasty Fujian annotated Du Fu’s poetics,explaining the content,methods and characteristics of their annotations.The third chapter examines the poetic literature of Du Fu in Fujian during the Ming dynasty,with three selected commentaries:Huang Guangsheng and annotations of Du Fu’s Metrical Poetry,Yan Tingju and annotations of Du Fu’s Metrical Poetry,Shao Fu and annotations of Du Fu’s Metrical Poetry.The three commentaries are examined in terms of the life of the commentator,the content of the commentary,the method of the commentary and the characteristics of the commentary,showing the distinctive Fujian style of commentary on Du Fu,which focuses on the elaboration of poetic meaning and the simplicity and refinement of language.The fourth chapter briefly describes the status and value of the Ming dynasty in Fujian annotations of Du Fu’s poetics in the history of Du Fu’s poetics,showing the unique literary value and valuable documentary value of the Ming dynasty Fujian annotations of Du Fu’s poetics,and discussing their far-reaching influence on future generations. |
