An Exegetic Study On Huang Shisan’s Shangshu Qimeng

"Shangshu Qimeng" is Huang Shisan’s only work on the study of "Shu".Due to the turmoil of the political situation and insufficient funds,the publication of "Shangshu Qimeng" was delayed until the reign of the Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty.This also directly led to its failure.That it has not been paid too much attetion by later scholars.However,the style of writing and the characteristics of exegetic in "Shangshu Qimeng" provided some new thinking directions for later scholars.That is,Huang Shisan extracted the essence of the scholars’ research on “Shangshu”in the Qing Dynasty as the blueprint of “Shangshu Qimeng”.He only took the textual research of Jiang Sheng,Wang Mingsheng,Duan Yucai and Sun Xingyan.But he omitted their process.And this can indicate the direction of research for the beginners.Also it can inspire them for deeply study.All in all,"Shangshu Qimeng" vividly demonstrated Huang Shisan’s academic attitudes that he aimed on simplicity and wanted to find the truth of the scripture.Based on this,this dissertation focuses on the achievement of the exegetical studies of "Shangshu Qimeng".The author wants to explore the value of "Shangshu Qimeng" and its influence on posterity.Therefore,firstly the author introduces the reason why she chooses this topic,the current academic resarch situation and the innovations of this dissertation in the introduction chapter.Secondly,the first chapter introduces Huang Shisan’s academic life.Due to this we can learn the effect of the late Qing Dynasty’s background on Huang’s academic thoughts.Based on the evaluation of scholars,the author wants to explore Huang Shisan’s position in the entire histroy of Confucianism.Thirdly,the author introduces the writing process and the publishing process of "Shangshu Qimeng".And then the author briefly summarizes the version of "Shangshu Qimeng".Fourthly,the third chapter specifically introduces the exegetical content and exegetical methods of "Shangshu Qimeng".Then the author analyzes the specific exegetical methods with the content in "Shangshu Qimeng".And the fourth chapter specifically introduces the interpretation features of quotation,emphasis on Qing people’s point of view,and emphasis on the textual research of the system.Finally,the fifth chapter summarizes the evaluation of the exegesis of "Shangshu Qimeng",which mainly highlights the three main principles of the his style,seeking truth from facts,innovation of his thought.Then the author briefly introduces the shorcomings of "Shangshu Qimeng".In the epilogue,the author analyzes the academic influence and the contribution of "Shangshu Qimeng" on Huang’s family studies,the history of “Shu”studies and the Eastern Zhejiang School.
