A Study On Yue Zheng And His Poetry

Yue Zheng was an official and literati in the early and middle Ming Dynasty who was famous for his moral integrity and writings.He is upright and courageous,he has the courage to serve as an official,and is knowledgeable and talented for learning.As a transitional figure between "Taige Style" and "Chaling Style",his poetry style is elegant and healthy,and his prose is tall and simple and majestic,with quite individual characteristics.At present,there are relatively few researches on his person,his poems and his prose.On the basis of sorting out a large number of Yue Zheng and his poems and prose creation materials,this paper tries to discuss his family background,life,friends,poetry and prose creation,so as to help people to understand him and his poetry and prose creation,and also hope to be of benefit to the study of Ming Dynasty literature and Jingji literature.The thesis is divided into three parts:The introduction part mainly introduces the reasons for choosing Yue Zheng and his poetry and prose research,sorts out the basic situation of academic research on Yue Zheng and his poetry and prose,summarizes the research ideas and innovation points of this paper.The main body of the paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter,on the basis of sorting out the general situation of Yue Zheng’s family,divides his life into four periods,namely,remonishing the power and villainy,banishing from Suzhou,retelling and rehabilitating,and Xinghua prefectural government,and summarizes the characteristics of his performance in different periods:courage to speak out,high ambition,courage to do things,perseverance nature;This paper discusses the editions of Yue Zheng’s works and their circulation,introduces in detail the collection of the extant edition of "Liebo Draft",and at the same time collects the poems scattered in the collation department.The second chapter,this chapter combined with the historical data,respectively on Yue Zheng and the senior teachers Yang Shiqi,Xu Bin’s communication with his peers Ma Shi,Li Jingyuan,Ye Sheng,Xing Yu,Guo Deng and other people,and the younger generation of Li Dongyang,Li Jing,Pan Chen’s communication,etc.,to comb through the analysis.The third chapter,on the basis of the discussion of Yue Zheng’s poetics,from the perspective of the theme orientation,focuses on Yue Zheng’s poems about history,poems about singing harmony and giving farewell,poems about painting scenery and singing objects,poems about Neo-Confucianism and Zen.Then,combining with his poetic works,this paper analyzes in detail the characteristics of Yue Zheng’s poems,such as having all kinds of styles,being good at creating a group of poems,having distinct images,referring to the classics,making good use of allusions,and having various styles.The fourth chapter explores Yue Zheng’s view of prose,and analyzes the ideological content of Yue Zheng’s different literary styles,such as preface,inscription and postscript,record and biography.On the basis of the foregoing,this paper summarizes and discusses the characteristics of Yue Zheng’s prose:respect the body and distinguish the body,and do what it is;the narrative and argumentation,the exquisite rhetoric;the high and simple language,the good use of allusions;the sincere emotions,falling into the general.The fifth chapter,on the basis of the previous research,extracts Yue Zheng’s unique character and its influence,summarizes the social,emotional,historical value of his literary creation,as well as the relationship with the mainstream literary world.The conclusion summarizes the relevant conclusions and points out the shortcomings of the research.
