A Evolutionary Study On Commonly Used Verbs Of"Praise"Category In Medieval Chinese

Abstract/Summary:
The thesis mainly uses semantic field theory,takes monosyllabic verbs with clear origins and evolutionary characteristics on commonly used words of "praise" as the research object,select representative literature from the Eastern Han,Wei Jin,and Sui dynasties,and investigate and count the monosyllabic verbs with "praise" meaning in them.On this basis,the members of the semantic field,both ancient and modern are generalized,with a view to revealing more systematically the characteristics and patterns of the development of the members of the "praise" semantic field from ancient to present.This paper is divided into four main parts:Part Ⅰ: Introduction.Outline the significance of the topic chosen for this paper,the current state of research on common words,define the scope and content of the research on common words,and establish the research methods and materials for this paper.Part Ⅱ: Chapter 2.According to the characteristics of the lexical evolution in the Middle Ages,they were divided into: Eastern Han,Wei,Jin,and Sui in the North and South Dynasties;the lexical frequency statistics and use case analysis of the members of the semantic field in the three periods were carried out;their epistemic characteristics,semantic relations and structural relations were examined;the two-syllable words associated with the members were also organized and described;the characteristics of the members of the semantic field in each period were summarized,and the properties of the members of the semantic field in the three periods were then compared over time.Part Ⅲ: Chapter 3.A brief comb description of the members of the semantic field in Pliocene and Modern times,comparing the word changes in the members of the semantic field in the three stages of Ancient,Medieval and Modern times.To study the evolution of each member of the "praise" category of commonly used words from within the semantic field,summarize their characteristics,describe the general evolution of the vocabulary,and reveal the laws and reasons for their development in conjunction with modern linguistic theory.Part Ⅳ: Concluding remarks.Provide a general overview of the content of the article and point out any shortcomings in the writing process.
