With the development of the Internet and intelligent products, online game products have occupied the spiritual world of contemporary teenagers with their ultra-high interest and availability, and have become their first choice for entertainment.Online game addiction has also become a phenomenon of high incidence among contemporary teenagers.Based on the theory of cumulative risk, this study focuses on the impact of family cumulative risk on the tendency of teenagers to become addicted to online games, and explores the role played by basic psychological needs and emotional personality traits. This study used online game addiction scale, basic psychological needs scale, high school personality five factors scale and family cumulative risk scale to conduct a questionnaire survey on 885 adolescents in hunan. The results show that:(1)among the samples tested in this study, most of the teenagers do not have the risk of online game addiction, but about 13.8% of them may have the risk of online game addiction.(2)there are significant differences in the gender, grade and source of students of online game addiction among the youth groups, but no significant differences in the demographic variable of only-child or not.(3)there is a significant positive correlation between family cumulative risk and emotional personality traits and online game addiction, while there is a significant negative correlation between basic psychological needs and online game addiction.(4)the satisfaction of basic psychological needs plays a part in mediating the relationship between the risk of family accumulation and the tendency of online game addiction.(5)emotional personality traits,as a risk factor, regulate the first half of the path of "family cumulative risk-basic psychological needs-online game addiction" and the direct path of "family cumulative risk-online game addiction".From this, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)in this study,13.8% of the teenagers may have the risk of online game addiction. In addition to the significant differences between men and women and the origin of students, this study also found that the tendency of online game addiction reached the highest in grade one and the lowest in grade one.(2)As a superimposed risk factor, the family cumulative risk of teenagers can not only directly affect their online game addiction, but also indirectly affect them through theirbasic psychological needs.(3)with the improvement of individual emotional personality traits, the influence of family cumulative risk on the tendency of teenagers to become addicted to online games will also increase, and the influence of family cumulative risk on the basic psychological needs of individuals will also increase, thus exacerbating the tendency of teenagers to become addicted to online games.
