Research On The Contemporary Value Of Ecological Holism

Ecological holism is a product of modern western ecological environment movement.The development of ecological holism was formed in the middle and late last century.At that time,industrial civilization has made great progress,but it has also brought unprecedented ecological environment crisis to all mankind.Ecological holism came into being under this background.The idea was formed in the movement of natural environment protection.According to the developing modern ecological theory,the values were based on the non anthropocentrism of the whole ecosystem.Ecological holism requires people not only to meet the needs of human beings,but also to pay attention to the overall interests of the whole ecosystem.Ecological holism,as a new school of ecological philosophy,well conforms to the development of modern ecology.It is a new idea and new path to solve the tension and contradiction between human and ecological environment,and has strong contemporary value.After decades of development and practice,ecological holism has a great influence in the field of ecological philosophy and ecological ethics.Although ecological holism is still in the subordinate position of ecological philosophy at the present stage,it still attracts extensive attention from philosophy,economics,politics,law,sociology,ethics,social governance,ecological governance and other disciplines.This paper first combs the background and theoretical origin of ecological holism,and straightens out the basic ideas,propositions and core concepts of ecological holism.This paper analyzes Leopold’s geoethics,Rolston’s natural value theory and naiss’ s deep ecology from the perspective of connection.The basic idea and core theory of ecological holism are based on the above three theories.Secondly,this paper discusses the value of ecological holism to human beings.This paper discusses the value of human individual and the value of human society from the perspective of ecological holism.This paper analyzes the contemporary value of ecological holism from two aspects to lay a theoretical foundation for better practice of its contemporary value.Then this paper enumerates and discusses the contemporary value of ecological holism,and points out the practical value that can be brought by practicing ecological holism.At the same time,it analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the current ecological holism,and tries to make the ecological holism better guide our ecological civilization construction,give full play to its value of the times,and avoid falling into the shackles of environmental fascism due to the lack of comprehensive understanding of the ecological holism.Finally,this paper puts forward the contemporary practice path of ecological holism,that is,strengthening the establishment of ecological consciousness,actively building ecological culture,vigorously developing ecological environment education,and giving full play to the subjective initiative of all participants,in order to provide a new idea and new path with contemporary value for the construction of ecological civilization in our country at the present stage.For the construction of ecological civilization in our country at the present stage,establishing the values of ecological holism can give full play to its holistic value.As a decisive force in the contemporary western environmental movement,ecological holism is one of the most anticipated ideological systems in contemporary ecological philosophy and ecological ethics.Although the current ecological holism is facing many problems and difficulties in theory and practice,it is a process that every developing theoretical system goes through.Ecological holism reveals some reasonable modern environmental values in its own unique theoretical way.Through the discussion of ecological holism,this paper analyzes its contemporary value,and explores the practice path of ecological holism in China,in order to benefit the construction of ecological civilization in China at this stage.
