| The Tai’s Rice Culture is an academic work in Thailand,which is compiled by Thai scholar Tongtian Na Yesheng,who tells the origin of Tai rice culture,mythology,custom ceremonies and rice beliefs.The concept of “Tai” is separated from the “dong-tai grou”proposed by Chinese scholar Li Fanggui,which refers to a group of multiple nations with the same historical origins and language culture.They mainly dwell in Southern China,Vietnam,Laos,Thailand,Myanmar and other countries,even far from the Violet area in the Northeast India.This report is based on the the Chinese translation practice in Tai’s Rice Culture.It mainly takes the CEA framework-“Comprehension,Expression,Adaptation” for guiding,which is proposed by Chinese scholar Li Changshuan,takes other scholars’ views for assistance,selects the more difficult and twist translation cases to present the process of the translation.The research has found that translation is specifically manifested in three aspects: understanding,expression and adaptation.Understanding is limited by the background knowledge of the translator,which can be understood through context,books,Internet and professionals.Expression is to Make sure that the language is not awkward,and it flows properly.Adaptation should be reasonable and appropriate,and should be changed when the original translation is not feasible.Translators can use some methods,such as supplements,additions,deletionsand reformulations to make adaptation. |
