Study On Bronze Vessels Of The State Of Zeng In Zhou Dynasty

This paper is based on the previous research,to collect and sort out the bronze vessels unearthed in the archaeological excavation of the Zhou dynasty period of Zeng,and to conduct a comprehensive and systematic typology study.By comparing the bronze vessels with those in the central plains and the chu region,we can understand the cultural composition and evolution of the bronze vessels in The state of zeng from a macro point of view,which is helpful to understand the bronze cultural features of The state of zeng in suizhou area of hubei province in the Zhou dynasty period.This paper consists of four parts.As shown below.The first part is introduction.Firstly,the concept and space-time of the object of study are defined,and the significance of this study is expounded.Secondly,the paper sorts out the known bronze vessels obtained from the archaeology of Zeng State,summarizes the research status of the former scholars on the bronze wares of Zeng State and related issues,and makes a brief comment.The second part is typology research and periodization.This paper mainly takes bronze vessels in the Zhou dynasty period of Zeng as the research object,classifies bronze vessels in Zeng into three categories: eating vessels,wine vessels and water vessels,and establishes a chronographic framework based on the tombs of Zeng with a clear age.Some articles with relatively clear time evolution sequence are selected for typology analysis,and on this basis,stage study is carried out.This paper divides the bronze vessels of The state of Zeng into three stages It’s divided into eight paragraphs,,and summarizes the characteristics of each stage.The third part is the analysis of burial combination of bronze vessels.In the order of times,according to the above section,the composition and characteristic rules of burial bronze vessels in each period are analyzed.It can be seen that the composition of bronze vessels in Zeng gradually changed from the trid-and-gui composition in the early Western Zhou Dynasty to the ’fu’ composition,and the ’gu’ was used as the division of medium and large burials during the Warring States Period.The fourth part compares the bronze vessels of Zeng.This paper mainly makes a comparative study on the bronze vessels of the Central Plains and the bronze vessels of the Chu system from three aspects of the types,shapes and composition of the vessels.It can be seen that the bronze vessels of Zeng inherited the Shang and Zhou ritual system in the early Western Zhou Dynasty,and had the typical cultural characteristics of the Central Plains.With the decline of the royal family at the end of the Western Zhou Dynasty,the appearance of bronze vessels in Zeng began to take on the characteristics of Chu bronzes,which were all influenced by the style of Chu bronzes in terms of the types,shapes and composition of vessels.
