Content:Yu State is a historical country losting record in the west of the central Shaanxi plain.According to archaeological excavation,Yu State located in the area of Fengxiang(凤翔)county and Fengxian county(凤县)which are in the west of Baoji city,the south bank of Wei river and the northern area of Qinling Mountains,living at the foot of a hill and beside a stream,Yu Bronzes is one of the fewer scientifically excavated bronzes groups in the Baoji region.Through the analysis of Yu Bronzes,We meet a developed state in bronze culture and creative spirit in the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty.Yu State reached its peak during the period of Chengwang(成王)and Kangwang(康王),going downhill at Muwang(穆王),and then perished quickly.Due to losting history books recording,we don’t know What is the real reason that Yu State perished until today.This paper is divided into five parts,including the shape,composition,decorative design,inscription and other aspects,focusing on the style characteristics of the bronzes of Yu,and this paper also discusses the properties of the Yu bronzes.The first part,introduction.The introduction mainly introduces the geographical environment of Baoji city and the historical position of Baoji in the development of Chinese civilization,especially the bronze civilization,briefly describes the important position of the bronzes unearthed in Baoji and how the Baoji bronzes make an important position in the study of Chinese bronzes.Finally,the research object of this paper is defined as the bronze vessel unearthed in the Yu State cemetery,overview the status quo of the research on bronze vessels unearthed in the cemetery of Yu State.The second part,analysis of the shape of bronze vessels in the country of Yu and its stage-division.Analysing the shape of 251 bronze vessels excavated from the graveyard of the country by means of archaeological typology,according to the characteristics and development of bronzes,the bronze vessels were divided into three groups of two stages,the age of the first phase range is during the period of Chengwang(成王)and Kangwang(康王),The second phase of age is in the period of Muwang(穆王).The third part is the shape and combination of the bronze vessels of Yu.In this part,the author discusses the innovative shape of bronze wares unearthed from the cemetery of Yu,at the same time,the important parts of the Western Zhou Dynasty-style shape is also discussed,The author propose that the shape of YuCui(盂鏙)which blong to Yu state is named for the first time,and its appearance is likely to be more early.Divided the bronze vessels of Yu state into eight categories,the bronze combination of Yu is a kind of Ding-Gui as the core of the food culture combination.The fourth part is the decoration and inscription of the bronze vessels of the Yu State.This part mainly discusses the common and typical patterns of the bronzes in the country of Yu.And it also collected and summarized the inscription calligraphy style,content,classification,significance and other aspects of the bronze inscriptions of Yu as one of the important principles to judge cultural factors.The fifth part is the analysis of the cultural factors and style characteristics of the bronze vessels in the country of Yu.This part makes a comprehensive analysis of the cultural factors of the bronze vessels in the country of Yu by means of the shape,decoration and inscriptions of bronzes,According to the proportion of each kind of cultural factors in the bronze group,it determines the appearance of culture in Yu bronzes,and summarizes the value and characteristics of the bronzes in the country of Yu.
