Research On The Design Of The Cruise Way-finding System Based On Tourist’s Circulation

In recent years,China’s cruise market has entered a new stage of development and is at a critical stage of leaping from “high-speed growth” to “high-quality development”.Cruise tourism,a special experience,is attracting more and more tourists to participate in it.When tourists experience the cruise for the first time,the cruise way-finding system enables them to understand its layout and structure and to reach their destination as quickly as possible,which means the design of cruise way-finding system determines the tourists’ experience on cruise liners to a large extent.However,there are relatively few domestic researches on the subject,so this research is of great significance.In this paper,the concept of circulation in architecture is introduced into the design of cruise way-finding system.Firstly,through literature analysis,the relevant concepts of tourists’ circulation and the cruise way-finding system are sorted out.In view of the particularity of cruise liners,this paper analyzes the influence of various functional spaces of cruise liners and tourists’ behavior characteristics on the design of tourists’ circulation and cruise way-finding system.The paper explores and studies the application and configuration of tourists’ circulation on cruise liners on the basis of comparative analysis of specific cases.The paper puts the cruise way-finding system into the interdisciplinary research background and integrates the knowledge of architecture,psychology,environics,ergonomics and some other disciplines.As a result,deficiencies in previous design of cruise way-finding system can be identified so as to make for a summary of the value of tourists’ circulation to the design of cruise way-finding system as well as an exploration of the internal relationship between the two.According to the above research results and combining the internal logic of the two,tourists’ characteristics and special functional requirements for cruise space,the paper proposes design principles of the cruise way-finding system based on tourists’ circulation,namely unity,humanization and safety.Finally,process-oriented,normalized and systematic design methods of the cruise way-finding system are summarized to provide brand new ideas for the design and pave the way for the practice as well.Based on relevant theories of tourists’ circulation,the paper always focuses on the internal connection between tourists’ circulation and the cruise way-finding system,and puts forward specific design methods of the latter.It is hoped that the theoretical results of the research can provide certain reference and research value for subsequent design projects of cruise way-finding system in China.
