A Report On The Translation Of Papers About Reservoir Imaging Using Deep Directional Resistivity Measurement

The report is based on the translation practice of two closely-related conference papers of SPWLA(Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts)58th and 59 th Annual Logging Symposiums.Both papers introduce the frontier research of reservoir imaging using deep directional resistivity measurements.The translation practice aims to facilitate relevant academic exchanges in this field and make an exploration in the translation of academic papers concerning science and technology by translating the papers mentioned above into English,which may also provide reference for the subsequent translation practice.This report is written in the following four sections.Firstly,the translation task is introduced to clarify the objectives and significance of the translation practice,that is,to translate accurately and smoothly for academic exchange.Secondly,the translation process is stated in the next chapter.The translation theory of Reiss’ typology is studied and adaptable techniques are selected and applied on the basis of study on the background knowledge and analysis on the source text.In the third chapter typical cases are studied on the application of translation strategies at lexical,syntactic and textual levels.Finally,the author makes a conclusion about the problems and gains during the translation process.
