A Practice Report On E-C Translation Of The Oxford Handbook Of Corporate Social Responsibility(Chapter Two) Under The Guidance Of Skopos Theory

This is a translation practice report guided by Skopos theory.The source text is excerpted from monograph The Oxford Handbook of Corporate Social Responsibility.This practice report takes the second chapter as the object of analysis,and aims to show the guiding role of Skopos theory in the translation of social science texts.The report consists of five parts:background introduction,process description,theoretical foundation,case analysis and conclusion.The first chapter introduces the background of the source text and the translation task.The second chapter describes the three phases of the translation process.The third chapter mainly expounds the Skopos theory and its guiding significance.The fourth chapter is the core of this practice report.Based on specific cases,the author discusses how to carry out the three rules of skopos,fidelity and coherence from lexical,syntactic and textual levels.The fifth chapter is the summary of the practice,which shows the author’s experience of the translation task.Through the selection of translation strategies and the application of translation skills,the practice report holds that Skopos theory not only contributes to improving the translation quality of social science texts,but also deepens the cognition of how to choose and use translation methods reasonably.Based on Skopos theory,the author selects appropriate translation strategies from different levels of texts and summarizes translation experience,hoping to provide reference for the translation of social science texts in the future and the research in related fields.
