| Secondary tasks not only does not reduce memory performance,but may also improve it.This phenomenon is called the attentional boost effect(ABE).Previous ABE research has focused on neutral memory,but recently began to turn toemotional memory.Emotional memory is divided into the memory of emotional stimulation and the memory of neutral stimulation in emotional state.On the one hand.Wang Dapeng first explored ABE in emotional stimulus memory to verify the early-phase-elevated-attention hypothesis,and founded that emotional stimulation valence and arousal regulates ABE.supporting the early-phase-elevated-attention hypothesis.However,the research result of Rossi-Arnaud et al.is the opposite.After analysis,it is found that they do not control the valence and arousal of the target and non-target background stimuli in the experiment,and this will affect the accuracy of the experimental results.In addition,motivation intensity is one of the important characteristics of emotional stimulation,but previous studies have not considered the impact of motivation intensity on ABE.Therefore,ABE in emotional stimulation memory needs to be further explored,and the early-phase-elevated-attention hypothesis needs to be verified.On the other hand,emotional memory is divided into two types,but previous studies have only examined ABE in emotional stimulus memory,but lack of investigation of ABE in neutral stimulus memory under emotional state.It can be seen that ABE in emotional memory needs to be thoroughly investigated,and the mechanism of ABE generation needs to be further explored.This study explores ABE in two types of emotional memory.The first part examines ABE in emotionally stimulating memory,and validates the early-phase-elevated-attention hypothesis.The experiment use emotional pictures as experimental materials,and uses the classic learning-test paradigm to match the valence and arousal of target and non-target background stimuli,as well as motivation intensity.Experiment 1 explored the effect of emotional stimulation valence on ABE,and founded that valence had no effect on ABE.Experiment 2 explored the influence of arousal of emotional stimulus on ABE,and founded that ABE in negative emotional stimulus was regulated by its arousal.Experiment 3 examined the influence of the motivation intensity of emotional stimulus on ABE,and founded that the motivational intensity of emotional stimulus had no effect on ABE.The results of positive emotional stimulation in experiment 1,experiment 3 and experiment 2 do not support the early-phase-elevated-attention hypothesis.While the ABE in negative emotional stimulation is regulated by its coding processing method,and has nothing to do with early attention.which also shows that early attention improvement theory is unreasonable.The second part of the study explores ABE in neutral stimulus memory in emotional state,and validates a dual task model.The model believes that ABE is related to the enhancement of perception caused by the release of norepinephrine from the locus coeruleus noradrenaline(LC-NE),and studies have shown that different emotional states affect the release of norepinephrine by LC-NE.In experiment 4explore the effect of negative emotional state on ABE.As a result,it was found that there was no ABE in the neutral stimulus memory under negative emotional state.There was no significant difference in the recognition performance and "know" response of non-target background stimuli.Experiment 5 examined ABE in memory of neutral stimuli under positive emotional state,it was found that the recognition performance of target background stimulus and "know" response in positive emotional state were significantly better than non-target background stimulation,that is,the ABE exists in the memory of neutral stimuli in a positive emotional state.The results of experiments 4 and 5 show emotional state has a regulatory effect on ABE,the dual-task interaction model is reasonable.In summary,the results of the ABE study in emotional memory indicate that the production of ABE may be related to the enhancement of sensory processing caused by the release of noradrenaline by LC-NE,and has nothing to do with the early-phase-elevated-attention hypothesis. |
