In the history of western music,although the French musician SAINT-SAENS belongs to the romantic period,his ideas on the classical style can often be found in his later music works.By analyzing the classical style embodied in the third movement of Piano Concerto no.5.First of all,the author expounds SAINT-SAENS’s attitude towards the use of classical style and his intention of creation.Secondly,the technique of classicism in the third movement is analyzed.Finally,from the performance of the classicism and how to cooperate with the concert to analyze.This shows that SAINT-SAENS’s persistent pursuit of classicism style and the high requirements for superb performance in the late stage of his creative career.
