This article aims to deeply understand the creation style of Saint-Saens and the musical connotation of his masterpiece——Violin Concerto No.3 in b minor through researching the background, the text and the deductive approach of this concerto. Meanwhile, the author applies the research conclusion which also combines her personal exploration in playing this work to the practical violin performance and teaching in an innovative style.At first, the author deeply analyzes the creation background of Violin Concerto No.3 in b minor by Saint-Saens and various factors which influence the author's style through reviewing a large number of literatures and states the creation idea and the musical style of Saint-Saens. Secondly, to thoroughly grasp this concerto's connotation, the author chooses the concrete text analytics from the melody, rhythm, harmony, tonality, orchestration, form and other relevant aspects of this work. Then combining the personal performance experience, the author put the focus on elaborating the performance method of each chapter, the skill and the aporia in presenting the style and artistic connotation of this work. At last, briefly state several inspirations in violin pedagogy by combining application research in teaching.This article is characterized by the uniqueness in its research angle, the systematicness in its research thought and the practicability in its research result. This dissertation can not only enrich the theoretical researches about Violin Concerto No.3 in b minor by Saint-Saens in China, but also play a positive role in the practical performance and the violin pedagogy of this masterpiece.
