Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,most of the texts published in the primary Chinese teaching materials are mainly dialogue,and dialogue is generally completed by the set of virtual characters.Therefore,the design of character discourse is very important for teaching materials.Elementary Spoken Chinese and Conversation Textbook are two sets of oral teaching materials suitable for Chinese learners in the primary stage.First of all,in different countries and gender figures of the communication content,Conversation Textbook is more reasonable in the communication content of Asian characters and female characters,breaking people’s stereotypes and enriching the characters.The arrangement of the two sets of teaching materials to reflect the male image through the communicative content needs to be improved.Secondly,in terms of the language of characters’ discourse,the speech behavior of the two sets of teaching materials is reasonable in the overall distribution.The characters in Elementary Spoken Chinese are in different relationships and when talking about different topics,the discourse is obviously more obsession.In addition,in terms of the attitude of character discourse,the negative appreciate discourse of Elementary Spoken Chinese has more than the positive appreciate discourse,and Conversation Textbook is arranged more reasonably.Too much negative evaluation of things can affect learners’ attitudes,so the choreography of Elementary Spoken Chinese needs to be improved.In general,the paper finds that there are advantages and disadvantages in the design of character discourse.The character dialogue of Elementary Spoken Chinese is interesting,but the character discourse is not coherent enough.The characters’ words in Conversation Textbook break people’s stereotypes about different country and gender characters,but some of the expressions are too long and do not conform to the characteristics of spoken language.In view of the shortcomings of the character discourse design in the teaching material,this paper also puts forward the relevant writing suggestions,such as: the character discourse of the teaching material should be true,interesting,proper,and reasonably arrange the speech act and reflect the attitude of the characters,pay attention to the incoherence of the character’s discourse expression.In addition,the character discourse design should avoid "labeling",try to avoid the appearance of the character’s words reflect different country and gender stereotypes,so as to attract the interest of learners,improve their oral expression ability.
