| During the Northern Wei Dynasty,there have been rich social security practices,and its content mainly includes four aspects: social assistance,social special care,social welfare,family security and social charity.Among all social security measures,social assistance accounts for the largest proportion,and because of the frequent occurrence of disasters during the Northern Wei Dynasty,disaster relief is the core content.In terms of the social groups that are guaranteed,the number of measures aimed at the elderly is the largest,which is closely related to the ruler’s promotion of respect for the elderly and the culture of filial piety.In the early days of the Northern Wei Dynasty,the special care for military groups was already attached great importance.Emperor Xiaowen once again strengthened the care and preferential treatment for them.This was mainly due to the initial establishment of the regime or the relocation of the capital and the need to win over the military to defend the country and maintain the rule.In the middle and late stages of development,the social security undertaking of the Northern Wei Dynasty reached its peak.Not only did the country implement social security with rich content and diversified forms,family security and social charity activities were also more active at this time,showing a general trend of vigorous development.The social security undertakings of the Northern Wei Dynasty were mainly influenced by Han culture,Buddhism,Taoism and other religious cultures,followed on the basic model of traditional Chinese social security,learned and borrowed the common measures of the Central Plains dynasty,but it is still at a relatively basic stage of development.However,the social security in the Northern Wei Dynasty still played an important historical role,and it was a stage that cannot be ignored in the development of social security in ancient China. |
