| The concept of space is an important basis for mankind to understand the world.There are differences in different languages on space concept but also similarities.The concept of space is an important foundation for mankind to understand the world.Due to differences in the cognitive styles,thinking modes,and cultural backgrounds of different nationalities,the coding mechanisms projected on the language level are also different,especially in the acquisition of localization words.As a type of word frequently used in modern Chinese,its rich and complex grammatical features have become a major difficulty for foreign students in learning Chinese.Therefore,according to the approach from semantics to form,this article selects a group of localization words "lǐ/wài",which is widely used in modern Chinese as the research object.With the help of Chinese parallel corpus and dictionaries,based on the detailed description,summarizes the differences and commonalities between the spatial concept expressions of the two languages in English and Chinese.Use the metaphor and image-schema theory in cognitive linguistics to make corresponding explanations,and finally selects the error corpus of the country where the official language is English to explore.Corresponding teaching suggestions are put forward in order to better improve the teaching effect of Chinese as a foreign language and make a little contribution to linguistic typology at the same time. |
