Yangxian Ci School And Its View Of "Ci Should Preserve Classics And History"

Yangxian Ci School,with Chen Weisong as its core leader,was an indispensable and important Ci school in the early Qing Dynasty.The peak of the Ci school was from1660 to 1695.There are more than one hundred Ci writers in this school,who have written a great deal of works,including five selections of Ci,one rhyme of Ci,and more than 20 collections of personal Ci poems that remain till now.Under the influence of Ming Dynasty’ theory,which prefer form to content,the elegant and delicate style of Ci in the late Ming Dynasty was no longer the open atmosphere of the Song Dynasty.So Chen Weisong and others advocated "Ci should preserve classics and history" in selecting and composing Ci,which fully promoted the status,richness and diversity of Ci.Through the study of the selection and composition of the Yangxian Ci School,I deeply excavate its view of "Ci should preserving classics and history",and try to have a more accurate understanding of the Yangxian Ci School’s position and influence in the Qing Dynasty.The first chapter introduces the situation of the Yangxian Ci school,the social background of the early Qing Dynasties and the regional cultural background of Yangxian.The second chapter,analyzes the view of "Ci should preserve classics and history",defines the concept and form of its expression.I divide this concept to two part,"Ci should preserve classics" and "Ci should preserve hidtory".Finally introduces the contribution and influence of Yangxian Ci school.On one hand,it promotes the status of Ci.On the other hand,The creation theory of Yangxian Ci School also had a certain degree of influence and continuation in the late Qing Dynasty.The third chapter discusses the new changes in the creation of Yangxian Ci School.On one hand,there is an obvious change in the theme of the creation,which include historical works,works reflecting life,works rewarding and replying.On the other hand,the creative concept has changed.First,the creative direction shows the transformation of "Ci should have same function with the classics as the history".The works pay more attention to social life,and the tendency of using words to express political aspirations is strengthened,also the function of Ci is expanded to a certain extent.Secondly,in terms of creative technique,the author makes good use of the combination of words to promote the narrative and lyric functions of the words.Thirdly,the perspective of narration and the subject of lyricism have changed.We can see both the first person and the third person narration in their works,and the subject of lyricism is mostly literati themselves.Fourthly,the commonly used images have changed,the tortuous and obscure allusions and the intense,bleak images have increased.
